A sample Robert’s Rules of order is acted out based on Conversation Strategies. This is part one of the meetings. Then in part two an actual meeting to discuss the group issues with each student choosing a role is performed. They are asked to evaluate what they brought to the team as a reflection writing exercise.

Imagine an HR company making an adjustment in employees are expected to be judged on 10 qualities to receive an increase in salary. What are they and how can you make your case to HR that you deserve the pay raise instead of termination. Work in silence and come up with the 10 top qualities. Use terms such as:

Career Cruising – user: tdsb, password: south, and go through an assessment for possible occupations.
Choose a job they would like to be interviewed for.
Look up job boards and find a job ad to refer to in the interview as well as write a cover letter, and resume.
A series of standard interview questions are handed.
Pair up and practice at least 2 times their answers.
Group students (no more than 2 on the panel) to ask the questions.
Instructor writes the responses down. See attached list.
