Students will gain a unique experience by working with actual Pennsylvania business representatives, who will assist them in the creation of virtual companies. Students will also learn how to become better decision-makers; strengthen their strategic planning skills; and sharpen their presentation abilities. The deadline for student submissions is approaching: Friday, December 16, 2011. Any 2012 high school graduate can enter. To qualify for one of six $6,000 PSECU Scholarships, the student must be a PSECU member by Friday, December 30, 2011. Students interested in joining PSECU must be eligible for membership. The Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Assoc. of Metropolitan Harrisburg is accepting applications for its Building Independent Women Scholarships for this 2011-12 school year. Criteria for qualifications are as follows: A. Applicant must be a citizen of the U.S. B. Applicant must submit: 1. Application with the recommendation of the building industry related instructor or professional; 2. Essay of 200 words or more describing career goals and why applicant should be awarded the scholarship; 3. A copy of latest grade transcript and SAT scores Deadline: April 2, 2012. Thiel College – Full Tuition Presidential Scholarship Competition – On Sunday, 1/29/12 Thiel College in Greenville, PA will hold its annual Presidential Scholarship competition for high school seniors. Five students will be awarded full tuition scholarships – a total award exceeding $87,000 over 4 years (when enrolled as a full time residential student at Thiel College). Students that meet the minimum scholarship requirements of a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1100 and an ACT composite score of 24 and a 3.7 cumulative GPA are eligible to compete. Application and acceptance deadline is January 15, 2012. Scholarship Competition Details Essay details: Students will be provided current event topics and asked to select one topic and write an essay. Students will be provided desktop computers (Windows operating system) and will have 45 minutes to complete their essay. Cargill Community Scholarship Program for 2011-2012 – The faculty/facilities that requested your school’s involvement is/are located at: 320 N. 16th Street, Lebanon, PA Students do not have to be in FFA to be selected. This program awards $1,000 scholarships to 350 high school seniors who live in communities where Cargill has a business presence in the U.S. Unique to the Cargill program, each scholarship recipient’s high school will receive a $200 grant from Cargill to support the school’s library. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership in extracurricular and civic activities. Each applicant must have a signature from a Cargill employee on the application signature page in order to be eligible for the program. Students are encouraged to visit a facility for a signature in order to be eligible for the program. Program guidelines and the application for the Cargill Community Scholarship Program will be available online at www.cargill.com, keyword: scholarship and at www.ffa.org. Applications are due February 15th. Alfred State College –SUNY College of Techology – Excellence in Education Scholarship – Awards free tuition (equivalent to NYS tuition rate), room (standard room, double occupancy), and board (choice of meal plan); students must possess a 93 or better cumulative high school average through their junior year; at least a 1200 (critical reading and math) combined SAT or 26 composite ACT score is also required. The current annual value of this scholarship is $15,720. Presidential Scholarship – Awards free room (standard room, double occupancy); students must possess a 90 or better cumulative high school average through their junior year; at least an 1150 (critical reading and math) combined SAT or 25 composite ACT scores is also required. The current annual value of this scholarship is $6,100. All-American Scholarship – Awards free board (choice of meal plan); students must possess an 88 or better cumulative high school average through their junior year; at least an 1100 (critical reading and math) combined SAT or 24 composite ACT score is also required. The current annual value of this scholarship is $4,350. Academic Distinction Scholarship - $1,000 awarded to academically talented students. How do you apply? Other than the admissions application, there is no application for the Excellence in Education, Presidential, All-American, Academic Distinction, Out-of-State, or Transfer scholarships.
