Directions for Mid-Point/Final Reflection Paper: Prepare an APA-formatted paper which provides evidence
that you are successfully engaged in each of the evaluation categories shown below. Please submit this
reflection paper to your Agency Supervisor for feedback and recommended revisions prior to completing your
mid-point/final evaluations. Once your Agency Supervisor signs-off on this assignment, email the paper to
your NAU internship instructor. Your NAU instructor may require some revision. Once the paper has been
approved by the NAU instructor, please upload your final (passing) draft of the paper to the appropriate location
in TaskStream. Your instructor will use 4.0 Likert scale using the following:
1.0 = Inadequate
2.0 = Adequate
3.0 = Good
4.0 = Excellent
Minimum passing score for this assignment is a mean of 3.0 or higher, with no 1.0 scores on any criteria, and a
minimum of 3.0 on the “Technology” and “Multicultural Competencies” domains.
Evaluation Categories for Mid-Tern Reflection Paper
1. GOALS & OBJECTIVES: Reflections thinking on goals and objectives related to the promotion of client
well-being and improving agency functioning.
2. ACTIONS TAKEN: Reflective thinking on actions taken to achieve goals and objectives described in
contract.
3. THEORIES & TECHNIQUES: Reflective thinking on the counseling theories and techniques that have
been actively used, and any other community counseling core knowledge that has been integrated into the
internship experience.
4. DATA MANAGEMENT: Reflective thinking on methods & outcomes used for data collection to assess
your overall effectiveness as a counselor.
5. EVIDENCE-BASED TREATMENT: Reflective thinking on how scientific research in the counseling
discipline has been used in treatment planning and specific interventions.
6. PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Describe your interactions with key agency personnel, as well as
relationships outside of the agency, and how you have navigated these relationships in ways that have
helped you in your work.
7. MULTICULTURAL COMPENTENCIES: Reflective thinking about how you have interacted with a
variety of clients, including those with disabilities and/or those from diverse ethnic, racial, gender, and SES
groups.
