Medical care is provided by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and licensed practical nurses. Sexual Assault and Interpersonal Violence Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, Harassment Sexual Assault/Interpersonal Violence Statistics • UW System - 2012: Two-hundred eighty-five (285) sexual assaults reported, 153 of which were acquaintances. • UW-Stevens Point - 2012: Nine (9) sexual assaults reported • National statistics indicate that 1 in 5 young women experience sexual assault during college. For between 80% and 90% - the victim and assailant know each other. Half of the student victims do not label the incident “Sexual Assault.” This is particularly true when alcohol is involved and there is no weapon or signs of physical injury. • In a national survey of college women, 13% said that they had been stalked. (In the U.S. 8% of women and 2% of men reported being stalked at some point in their lifetimes.) • Between 25% to 33% of LGBT relationships include dating or domestic violence, a rate equal to non-LGBT relationships.
