GPA CALCULATION
A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated
after semester grades are posted and is based on all
graded courses taken. Official class rank is computed
after the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth semesters. The
final calculation for official senior class rank is
prepared after the last scheduled senior exam. Grade
Point Average and class rank are based upon the
collegiate 4.0 grade point average. The GPA is weighted.
HIGH SCHOOL CONNECTION COURSES
Junior and Senior students who have a grade point
average of 3.5 (90%) and above may be eligible for dual
enrollment classes offered by the University of the
Incarnate Word. This program enables students to earn
up to 18 hours of college credit while completing their
requirements for a high school diploma. Students
attend college courses which are taught by college
professors on a college campus with college students in
attendance. The grades earned in the High School
Connection Program are recorded on the student’s
SACHS transcript and become part of the UIW official
college record and transcript.
