General information and computer access 1. The media room is part of the HSE Library and is intended to be used by library users for work with the library’s electronic resources. All HSE Library rules apply to mediatheque users. 2. To register in the mediatheque, show student identification document (for students), PhD student identification document (for PhD students) or staff card (for faculty and staff). 3. Rotation and access to PCs are moderated by mediatheque support specialists. II. User identification and security 1. During the first visit, a user fills out the User’s Form and obtains a login and password from the mediatheque support specialist. Later on, users can change their password on their own; it is recommended to do so immediately. Users are responsible for password security and all actions made under their login and password. If you forgot your password, please contact the mediatheque support specialist. 2. During all other visits users should reserve a place in the electronic queue and check in with the mediatheque support specialist before starting a work session. 3. Finish the Windows session at the end of your work (it prevents other users from using your account), check out with the mediatheque support specialist. III. Using library electronic resources 1. While using HSE library electronic resources users must follow the license agreements between rights holders and suppliers of the library e-resources and HSE Library. To view agreement texts, please contact the mediatheque support specialist. 2. It is prohibited to engage in any activities that are not connected with using library electronic resources in the mediatheque, in particular installing software, playing computer games, visiting recruiting sites, viewing images that can be considered an affront to public decency and other. The mediatheque support specialist has the right and technical capability to view the content of your monitor from his PC. IV. Saving information and copying 1. Users can save information in the folder ‘My documents’ («Мои документы») placed on the desktop. The folder size is limited to 15Mb. You can access to files copied to this folder during subsequent sessions from any computer in the mediatheque. Other mediatheque users do not have access to your files. All files saved by users not in the folder ‘My documents’ («Мои документы») (including to the desktop) will automatically be deleted after the end of the session. 2. To copy data to floppy disks and USB storage devices please contact the mediatheque support specialist. The mediatheque support specialist has the right to ask users about the content of copied and printed data, view and examine information while copying and printing and to prevent copying (particularly in the case of breach of the license agreements with library partners). In the case of failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of these rules, users can be banned from using the mediatheque (including use of the printer) for a definite or indefinite period of time. The level of restriction is regulated by the mediatheque support specialist. I have familiarized myself with the HSE mediatheque terms of use and agree to follow them.
