NEH ARR PPS
Hutch Protection Systems (HPS)
Utilizes existing PLC system architecture, with some
differences.
Generally follow SSRL user-interface model
Two Access States: ‘Permitted’ and ‘No Access/Search Set’
Experimenters can set access at will and perform their own
searches
Stoppers controlled from PPS Hutch Users Panel near each Hutch
entrance.
PPS Hutch Users Panel has one door-release key which may be
removed from the panel when stoppers are confirmed ‘in’
SSRL Personnel Hutch door design is utilized
Roll-up Equipment Door is interlocked; locked administratively.
There is one ‘search preset key’ per hutch, given only to personnel
with adequate training
Each Hutch has an Online/Offline Keyswitch that prevents
completion of the search and removal of stoppers
