ABOUT ISTANBUL
Istanbul is a natural gateway spanning the European
and Asian continents divided by the Bosphorus
Straits. İstanbul has been called ‘The City of Seven
Hills’ because the oldest part of the city is supposedly
built on seven hills, each of which bears a historic
mosque.
As it was, the historic areas of the city were added to
the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985. The
natural beauty of the city, an exciting scene, its blend
of modernity and history all combine to make İstanbul
a distinct meeting place for international congresses
