Viessmann oil/gas-fired boilers for mediumsized and large outputs
Efficient solutions for economical heat and
steam generation
Viessmann is introducing new high-pressure steam boilers, wider
areas of use for gas condensing boilers, new water treatment
stations, and a new control unit for medium- and large-capacity
boilers onto the market this year:
-
The gas condensing boiler Vitocrossal 200 with an output
range between 87 and 311 kW is now available with a
permissible operating pressure of 6 bar.
-
With Vitomax HS, Viessmann is introducing new highpressure steam boilers, which stand out due to their
attractive starter prices. Precisely matched to optional
additional components, the extensive range ensures that
boilers can be matched to individual customer
requirements.
-
The new thermal water treatment station type WAS 200 for
full deaeration is a compact module ready for operation in a
short time for supplying the steam boiler with treated,
deaerated steam.
-
The new control unit for multi-mode systems
Vitocontrol 300-M can also be used to conveniently control
and monitor very complex energy systems with different
heat, cooling, and power generators.
Vitocrossal 200: gas condensing boiler for
operating pressure up to 6 bar
Vitocrossal 200 (Type CM2B), in the output range between 87 and
311 kW, is a tried and tested, attractively-priced condensing boiler
with a stainless steel Inox-Crossal heating surface and a
modulating MatriX gas burner. The boiler's permissible operating
pressure has now been increased to 6 bar. The boiler thus has
even more wider range of potential uses and is well-suited to
supplying heat to large facilities and high buildings.
The combination of stainless steel Inox-Crossal heating surfaces
and MatriX gas burners provides maximum fuel efficiency and very
low CO2 emissions. Vitocrossal 200 thus achieves a high standard
utilization rate of 98 % (Hs). The MatriX burner is very quiet in all
output sizes thanks to the low-flame area combustion.
Permanently effective heat transmission
U-pipe locations and changes in cross-sections in the Inox-Crossal
heating surfaces guarantee full contact with heating gas and,
consequently, maximum heat transfer to the boiler water. The
smooth, stainless steel surface allows the condensate that forms
during the condensing process to simply flow downward in the
same direction as the flue gas. This produces a permanent selfcleaning effect, which ensures a permanent high utilization of
condensation technology and reduces maintenance work. Unlike
standard heat exchanger designs – especially those made from
aluminum – Inox-Crossal heating surfaces do not allow
condensate to accumulate or condensate residue to settle on the
hot gas side of the walls. Heat transfer in Vitocrossal 200 thus
remains efficient on a permanent basis.
Not required: boiler circuit pump or hydraulic switch
Vitocrossal 200 holds up to seven times more water than
comparable condensing boilers on the market. For example, the
smallest boiler in this series with a nominal heat output of 87 kW
contains 229 liters of water. This results in a series of advantages:
-
Its hydraulic connection is easy and inexpensive to install
and no hydraulic switch is required.
-
There is no forced circulation and thus no boiler circuit
pump is required.
-
There are no limitations on high flow/return temperature
differences.
-
The operational characteristics of the condensing boiler are
robust against fluctuating effects from the heating network.
-
The large water capacity also produces significantly fewer
burner starts, which reduces wear and tear.
-
In addition, the boiler is not sensitive to limescale deposits,
even with marginal fill water quality.
Convenient Vitotronic control unit
Vitocrossal 200 can be run either at a constant or a weathercompensated reduced boiler water temperature. The
Vitotronic 200 control unit is easy and convenient to operate
thanks to the large, lit screen with its plain, multi-line text display.
Operating times and heating curves are shown in clearly defined
diagrams while logically structured menus ensure intuitive
operation.
A standardized LON bus enables owners to integrate higher level
building control systems. The Vitocom/Vitodata TeleControl
system also provides the option of extensive remote monitoring
and maintenance of the boiler system.
Cascaded
Two Vitocrossal 200 can also be operated in cascade from a
control engineering and exhaust gas line perspective with outputs
of just 87 kW and above. Special stainless steel exhaust gas
collector lines and hydraulic system piping are available for twin
boiler systems.
