Grades after the resit exams for the 2014-2015 Spring semester will be announced on the 22nd of June 2015. The tuition fee of 300 TL/ 128 USD per credit for the METU NCC courses should be paid to the Türkiye İş Bankası, ODTÜ KKK Branch Online Account. The students with scholarship have course credits free of charge to use during the summer schools. The information regarding the scholarships and course credit number to take free of charge is stored in the registration system (It will be available by June 4th, 2015 on SAIS, program 61). If you take more credits than you have free of charge, you only need to pay the difference. The students with 100% tuition-waiver have 8 credits, 50% tuition-waiver have 4 credits an 25% tuition-waiver have 2 credits free of charge. Advisor approval is necessary for the completion of registration for a summer school course. The system will be set in a way that allows advisor approval remotely, only for the summer school. Details about this procedure and advisor lists will be announced before registration. The courses that cannot be offered due to insufficient enrollment and those that did not get advisor approval will be announced to our students on the 19th of June 2015, Friday by e-mail. Students who have passed MAT 100 and MAT 119 in their first attempt, in the Fall and Spring semesters respectively, are eligible to enroll at MAT 120 during the consequent summer semester without tuition payment. Students who have passed the English Proficiency Exam in June are eligible to enroll at MAT 100 during the consequent summer semester without tuition payment (if the course is offered). * After the announcement of the resit exam grades on 22nd of June 2015, the students will be allowed to drop the courses which they have passed. Registration of METU NCC students to METU Ankara Courses: The registration of METU NCC students to the Ankara campus courses will be via the Student Affairs Information System, between June 24th-26th, 2015. The courses offered on the Northern Cyprus Campus on June 16th-17th and their equivalent courses cannot be taken at the Ankara campus by the students who did not attempt to register, even if the course is later closed because of insufficient enrollment. There is no similar restriction for the other courses of the Ankara campus. In order for registration to the Ankara Campus courses to be complete, approval from your Northern Cyprus Campus program is necessary. The system will be set in a way that allows advisor approval at a distance, only for the summer school. The courses that are going to be offered in the Ankara Campus summer school can be viewed through program number 64.0 in the SAIS, titled “View_Program_Course_Details”. The content is dynamic since it is being frequently updated by the departments. The tuition fee/credit for the METU NCC courses should be paid to the Türkiye İş Bankası, ODTÜ KKK Branch Online Account. The system will be open for payments on the 18th of June 2015, Monday at 14:00 and will be closed on the 25th of June 2015, Thursday at 16:00. Students who are planning to take a course with a prerequisite at the Ankara Campus should fill in the Prerequisite Notification Form by the 10th of June 2015. Since the Ankara prerequisite lists contain different codes from ours, this step is important in order to avoid any complications during registration. The criteria about which students can take a given course are decided independently by the individual departments and instructors of the course. Therefore, if restrictions are placed by the department or the instructor for a specific course, there cannot be any administrative interference to the situation. It is known that certain courses at the Ankara Campus are popular, and their quotas are quickly filled. Students who plan to take such courses are advised to finish their registration early. In addition, the Computer Center of the Ankara Campus is known to give precedence to computers within the Ankara Campus at certain periods during registration. Summer School Academic Rules: In a Summer School, a student can take at most 2 courses. It is not possible to drop a Summer School course, or withdraw from it. The duration of the Summer School is 6 weeks before the final exams, and the number of course hours is the same as in the usual semesters. The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is updated at the end of Summer School. The Summer School is not counted for certain semester counts such as the 3 semester rule (a course for which a passing grade is obtained cannot be taken if more than 3 semesters have passed), or the maximum period of study. But if 3 semesters have passed before the summer school, then this course cannot be taken during summer school.
