in life happen - illness, technical issues, you forgot etc.
Therefore, I will accept one late
homework assignment per semester as a ‘free pass’. Exams and quizzes must be taken
during the scheduled class time (no makeups) and the final project must be submitted on time
to receive credit. The final grade is a weighted average as shown below.

date, an instructor signature is required to withdraw. I will consider signing withdrawal requests
through the College specified date of 11/11/2014. I will only sign withdrawal requests for students
who are current, active class participants and have special circumstances. Be sure to contact me
in advance of this deadline if you would like to discuss the option of a withdrawal with signature.

thinking and judgment. Academic honesty is essential for all work completed in the course. By
attending MCCC, students accept our Academic Code of Ethics and agree as follows:
•
•
•
•

Students must not cheat.
Students will not re-use work from a previous course without permission.
Students must not help others to cheat (if you share your work, you are equally guilty)
Students who are unclear about of an academic procedure they are about to undertake should ask
their instructor for guidance beforehand. (See complete Code of Ethics in Student handbook or
online at Student Academic Code of Ethics. If you submit work which is not your own or give
your work to someone else to submit, you will receive a 0 for the assignment. If the offense occurs
more than one time, you will receive an XF for the course and could receive additional sanctions
by the College.

Time Commitment to Homework
In any college course, students can expect to spend between one to two hours per week for each
class hour to complete homework assignments, read material for the following week, and study for
quizzes and exams. Since this course meets for four hour per week course, you can expect to
spend between four and eight hours per week for "out of classroom" activities.

 Attend all classes including the midterm exam
 Submit all homework by the due date
 Plan to spend a lot of time at a computer working on your assignments. It is a fact of life:
Assignments are due when computers break down. Plan accordingly! Don't wait until the
last minute to get your work done and have a backup plan.
