How does God the Father show his mercy to us? The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant Matthew 18:23-35 If we are merciful how do we act? What is the message? That God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness to others. The Opening of the Holy Door Pope Francis will open the Holy Door at St. Peter’s in Rome on 8th December. On the Third Sunday of Advent a Holy Door will be opened by Bishop Marcus in St. Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds The Opening of the Holy Door To walk through a Holy Door is a sign that you want to change, to experience God’s love and mercy which brings hope and joy. Holy Doors in School We could decorate our doors adding words from the Bible with pictures and symbols that show Jesus’ love and mercy We pray that anyone who enters through our Holy Doors will experience the love of God in this place. The logo The motto, “Merciful like the Father” Be like God, do not judge or condemn, but love and forgive. About the logo Jesus, the Good Shepherd, carrying us through life. What do you notice? The shared eye Jesus sees with the eyes of Adam, and Adam with the eyes of Jesus Jesus Christ became man so he knows what it is to be human. He invites us to see life as he sees it.
