EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE OF
MERCY
The Holy Year’s theme is from Luke
Chapter 6 verse 36
Jesus tells his disciples:
“Be merciful just as your
Father is merciful.”
EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE OF MERCY
 MERCY?
 How
does God the Father show his
mercy to us?
The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant Matthew 18:23-35
 If
we are merciful how do we act?
What is the message?
That God is merciful and
forgiving and that we, too, must
show mercy and forgiveness to
others.
The Opening of the Holy Door
Pope Francis will open the
Holy Door at St. Peter’s
in Rome on 8th December.
On the Third Sunday
of Advent a Holy Door will
be opened by Bishop
Marcus in St. Anne’s
Cathedral in Leeds
The Opening of the Holy Door
To walk through a Holy
Door is a sign that
you want to change, to
experience God’s love
and mercy which brings
hope and joy.
Holy Doors in School
We could decorate our doors adding
words from the Bible with pictures
and symbols that show Jesus’ love
and mercy
We pray that anyone who enters
through our Holy Doors will
experience the love of God in this
place.
The logo
The motto,
“Merciful like the Father”
Be like God, do not judge
or condemn, but love
and forgive.
About the logo
Jesus, the Good
Shepherd, carrying us
through life.
What do you notice?
The shared eye
Jesus sees with
the eyes of
Adam, and
Adam with the
eyes of Jesus
Jesus Christ
became man
so he knows
what it is to be
human. He invites
us to see life as he
sees it.
