R-20 is essentially 2 residential homes to an acre. HI is heavy industrial. The 60 acres is the front third of the horse farm property on Old Mill Road across from the former Union Carbide plant. The back of horse farm shares a property line with The Waterford, specifically some homes on Galway, Waterford, Hepworth, and Pembroke. The proposal includes members to attend these meetings as a show of opposition to the rezoning project. The Waterford Neighbor married to Andrew Kelly. On many a summer’s day you’ll see the three generations at the pool. Larry works for Chalmers and Kubek, an industrial equipment supplier. He now handles outside sales and project management but is looking forward to retiring at the end of the year. Marilyn retired in 2011 after working for many years with AgGeorgia Farm Credit. 2011 was also the year they completed an inviting backyard renovation. Back home from a stint in the Marine Corps, Cartersville native, Larry Hobgood, met a local girl, Marilyn Vaughan, and the two began dating. They married two years later in1974. After living out in the county they began in 1995 looking to move into the city. They specifically looked in The Waterford, where years before being developed Larry had ridden horses from a nearby stable. Hearing about the house at the end of the Devon Court cul-de-sac being for sale they jumped. Both knew the house because they had previously admired the location. Location was a real draw for the couple in addition to liking the floor plan of the house. The activity of the tennis courts and the pool, and the proximity to Dellinger Park was and still is a real plus. An added bonus was the great neighbors on the cul-de-sac with whom they have formed close friendships. Larry was an avid tennis player at the time. Along with their two young daughters, the entire family would spend many days enjoying the pool. Though Larry no longer regularly plays tennis the couple’s enthusiasm for the pool and its closeness to their home has not diminished. Both daughters are now married and live locally. Jill and Blake Arthur have two children, Eva Kate and Wheeler. Joanna is Larry and Marilyn have just finished their second home improvement project with a complete remodel of the kitchen. With no other projects on the horizon they plan to do more travelling once Larry retires. Maybe back to Hawaii where last year they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary cruising the islands. Larry does a mean hula! The Waterford Neighbor Page 5 New Parking Regulations 65 or Over?
