USE the ELEVATE one-page sales tools you created
to develop this section. Example: Use the same 3

screen shots and callouts used on one-pagers to
demonstrate the best activities that reveal:
1. Lower-level learning – basic knowledge and
understanding (video or animation?)
2. Mid-level learning activity –application,
practice, or evaluation activity
3. Higher-level learning activity – critical

Activity 1 – Lower-Level Learning Activity:
 This should focus on basic understanding.
 Example could be a video, animation,
model, etc.
CALLOUT:
The MindTap Reader brings business
communication concepts to life and helps students
better understand the content with embedded
media, such as “Zooming In” business cases,
narrated lecture slides, and Model Document
videos.
CLICK PATH:

Scroll down to “Opening for Solicited Jobs”.
Highlight the first bullet and choose the color
yellow. Click one more time and add a note that
says “network and use reference!”. Scroll down to
the solicited cover letter video. Click Play and make
it full screen.
Activity 2 – Mid-Level Learning Activity:
 This should focus on application, practice.
 Example could be graphing, interactive
assignments that test understanding, etc.
CALLOUT:
Students receive grammar and mechanics practice
with automatically-graded assessments. Right and
wrong answers get detailed explanations so
students can fully understand their errors before
moving on to another set of randomized questions.

Under “organizing and drafting business messages”,
scroll down through the activities, and click on #6
Grammar and Mechanics – Commas. Answer the
first 3 questions (possibly try to get two correct).
Scroll down and click “Grade it now” (highlight).
Scroll down to the incorrect question to review your
feedback (highlight) about why it is wrong. Scroll
down and click “Try another version” (highlight).
Answer 3 more questions and click “continue”.

Activity 3 – Higher-Level Learning Activity:

 This should focus on critical thinking, real
life application.
 Example could be case studies, critical
thinking challenges, creative problem
solving, thinking like a professional, etc.
CALLOUT:
You can easily assign oral communication activities

or out of class. Students are able to receive valuable
feedback that includes rubric grading, peer review,
time-stamped commenting, and more.
