four programmes. The aim of the programmes was to
empower and equip people with skills that are much
needed to help those who are employed to excel in

Describe the learner ship programme improved your quality of life? The learnership programme has
changed a lot. It has changed my life in a sense that I have got something to hold on to. I used to sit in the
township and do nothing; with this learnership programme my life has improved for the better.
Where do you see yourself in future with the exposure and the experience you have gained? I just want
to open myself to learning new things and acquire skills that will help develop and prepare me for the real
world out there.

Describe the learner ship programme improved your quality of life?
It has helped me gain experience and gave me an insight in the micro-lending industry.
Where do you see yourself in future with the exposure and the experience you have gained?
I see myself finishing up to level 6 of the internship, which is a degree qualification and to potentially being a bank
manager.
We have met with Penny after she got an opportunity to join Compuscan Academy as a Learner Support Officer
and has registered for Level 6 Microfinance. She is living her dream and is a living example that all dreams are
possible if you believe and push yourself to greater heights.

Interests/Hobbies: Watching TV, listening to music and going to church.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes to encourage the youth to better themselves in terms of schooling which will help them
to keep away from the streets.

Quotes you live by: I open the bible in the morning and get quotes from whatever scripture I might have
come across that specific morning. Those inspire me.
Describe the learner ship programme improved your quality of life? I have improved from the day I got
here as I have met new people and I am able to communicate with people from different races and cultures.
Where do you see yourself in future with the exposure and the experience you have gained? I hope to
open my own business with the experienced gained from the Kuyasa Fund if I do not get the opportunity to
work here again one day.

Interests/Hobbies: Reading the Word of God (Bible) and playing soccer
Likes/Dislikes: Believes the Government can provide or fund more Christian organizations that could
preach to the youth, stray them away from wrong doing. I also like how with the privilege I’ve been
granted I can give back to community through sharing the word of God and preaching hoping to instil
change and encourage the youth to be reborn.
Dislikes exposure created by the media, as it is negatively influential in the lives of the youth.

Hangout spots: Goes to church, seldom goes to stadiums to watch soccer, takes part in crusades
and mostly hangs at home.
Quotes you live by: A verse in Revelations 6:9 keeps me motivated and give me faith.
Describe the learner ship programmeimproved your quality of life?
With the learnership I have been exposed to the micro-finance industry, am able to operate a computer,
the staff has created comfort where I can easily ask questions and know more.
I am now able to help at home with financial situations.
Where do you see yourself in future with the exposure and the experience you have gained?
I hope to study further get a degree and if blessed receive a permanent post here at the Kuyasa Fund as
I have performed very well in the work that I do. That can also help me support my family.
Note: I am thankful for the opportunity granted and hope that in the near future there will be
more opportunities like this one offered to the youth.
