MONDAY:
Bell Work: 5 mins
Students will continue with their rock cycle notes, completing information on sedimentary rock. 15-20
mins
Brain Pop: Erosion short video: 5-10 mins
Sedimentary Rock Worksheet: 3.3 Reading Guide B- Remainder of class
Homework: Finish 3.3 Reading Worksheet (Pages 89-95 in text).
TUESDAY:
Students will take their understanding of weathering and erosion and perform several
activities throughout the class period around the room (Advanced class labs will have
some variations).



Students will use stream tables and perform several tests to determine how the
angle, volume of water and type of material determines the formation of a river.
Students will see the erosional and depositional processes at work. Students will
design investigations of their own to further their understanding of these
phenomena.
Students will create a type of sedimentary rock.
Students will look at the process of erosion through other means, such as friction,
gravity and weather phenomena.
No Homework
WEDNESDAY:
Finish conclusion questions for sedimentary rock lab stations (sea water investigation, stream
table, weathering lab). Students will review their igneous and sedimentary rock quiz.
Homework:
Finish lab questions not finished in class. Read pages 96-101 in the text. Answer questions
1,3,4,5,6 on a separate sheet of paper.
THURSDAY:
Students will complete a double bubble map comparing and contrasting the appearance and
formations of sedimentary and igneous rock.
Students will look at a sketch of a series of layered rock over time. From this sketch, students will
discuss and describe the conditions and process that might have formed each layer.
Weathering and Erosion Video: 20 mins
Students will take notes on metamorphic rock formation. Students will begin working on their
chapter 3, section 4 review guide.

FRIDAY: NO SCHOOL
