Nathaniel Jefferson-Simon LT 2010 29 September 2014 Unit 4: Assignment 1 1. Mark needs to check whether or not he is registered for his College Algebra course, but the lines are much too long at the advisement center. What should he do? The alternative to waiting in the long lines at the advisement center is to go to www.paws.gsu.edu and sign in using your Campus ID and your password. One you log in you click the tab on the top left corner that says classes. One redirected to the new page you will see a box on the left side that is titled My Course. In that box there is a link that says “View concise student schedule” which will show you all of the courses that you are registered in for the current semester. 2. Mark needs to do a literature review for a paper that will be due next month in World History. What are three digital resources that could help him do this? If I were Mark the first thing I would do is check out Georgia State’s online databases. There you can find books, journals, academic articles, and much more. The website is www.library.gsu.edu/ www.scholar.google.com/ is also a great place to find scholarly articles to do a literature review. www.khanacademy.org/ is my favorite resource. It offers free video libraries and assessments. It is a great way to get background information on the topic of your review. 3. Mark’s Economics professor has flipped his classroom. The professor has provided an economics e-book and a series of recorded lectures to review at home on topics that will be discussed and worked on in class. What are some other online resources that Mark might be able to use to supplement the book and videos? All things that the professor provides online can usually be found on your Desire to Learn, but if he wants to supplement those resources he could go to www.khanacademy.org/. Khan Academy offers video lectures and test prep for just about any educational topic you can think of.
