CALENDARS TO BENEFIT ORPHANAGE The Sisters of the Holy Cross will be selling calendars after all weekend Masses on March 7 and 8 to help benefit the Children of Mary Gate of Heaven Orphanage in Haiti. The orphanage was founded in 1986 by Sister Claire Daneau CSC. It is home to over 55 children whose needs are great: clothes, tuition, school supplies, solar panels, wells for water, etc. This year they are raising funds for a truck/van to transport the children to church and school. You can help these children by purchasing a lottery calendar at a cost of $10 each or six for $50. A total of $2500 will be drawn beginning April 4 through May 3. Thank you for your support. INTERFAITH WOMEN OF NH All women are invited to attend this faith based history and art event with Fr. Additionally, Father Iain will speak about the transition of the chapel to an art exhibition space focusing on the Gallery’s growth, current collections and significance to the college and the community. They have infinite value for the departed and those who survive their loved ones. During Lent, we have openings at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursdays. You may arrange to have a Mass said by calling the office at 622-4966. PART-TIME PARISH SECRETARY POSITION A position has opened for a part-time secretary for St. Catherine of Siena Church rectory. Applicants must be practicing Catholics committed to their faith. Also, this person must be proficient in computer skills (Microsoft word, Excel, data processing), be competent with the internet and e-mail and have the ability to communicate well both verbally and written. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home mission dioceses in the United States is by funding seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses where educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men, so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week’s appeal. WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES The Diocese of Manchester is sponsoring a pilgrimage to the World Meeting of Families, to be held in Philadelphia, PA from September 22-27. Participants from around the U.S. and the world will convene to explore the critical role that the family plays in society and to give families, and those who minister to families, opportunities to talk about the challenges and blessings that all families have. Pope Francis will visit Philadelphia and celebrate a public Mass on Sunday, September 27. The local team is making plans now through March 28. Daily peaceful prayer vigils will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on the public sidewalk outside Planned Parenthood, Pennacook St. Hour captains are needed in order to ensure that all 40 days are covered. All that is required is to commit to one or two hours and then invite 2 or 3 people per hour to participate in a prayerful vigil.
