SCOPE OF PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Production and operations management concern with the conversion of inputs into
outputs, using physical resources, so as to provide the desired utilities to the customer
while meeting the other organizational objectives of effectiveness, efficiency and
adoptability. It distinguishes itself from other functions such as personnel, marketing,
finance, etc., by its primary concern for ‘conversion by using physical resources.’

WORK EXPERIENCE
I have worked before with MULONGA WATER AND SEWERAGE COMPANY on
industrial attachment basis between January 2011 and April 2011. Most of the works I was
tasked to do had to do with studying the operational efficiency of the company operations planning department and all the three water treatment plants’ works of the company based in
Mufulira, and to make corresponding recommendations on how improvement towards
optimizing the all operations could be effected. My supervisor was MR WESTON CHIBALE
the then operations engineer and now the division manager.
