Ang kaunlaran ng kooperatiba ay namamalas sa balikatan ng pribado at ng pamahalaan sa pagsisikap ng bawat isa sa unti-unting pagbibigay ng kapangyarihan sa kilusan ng kooperatiba. History of CUMNE The Cooperative Union of Muñoz Nueva Ecija (CUMNE) is a secondary cooperative. It was started as regular monthly meeting of coop chairman in 2007 until 10 February 2011 when the City Cooperative Development Office & Allied Services (CCDOAS) of LGUScience City of Muñoz called for a meeting of cooperative leaders in the City and egged Mr. Vincent DV. Alvarez, OIC-CCDOAS to infuse energy and inspiration to register this group of cooperatives as a union. With the full determination of the group and non-stop support of CCDOAS, CUMNE was registered on the 4th day of January 2012, with registration number of 9520-03020988 and Cooperative Identification Number (CIN) 0207030009. Since then, the CUMNE with its original 22-members coops started to actively conduct monthly meeting hosted by the primary coop members and promote activities for education, training and advocacy for cooperatives. The first objective of CUMNE’s operation centered on providing the seminars and workshop that focused on cooperative leadership for the City of Muñoz. Due to the expanded involvement of many coop leaders in education and training from the increasing member coops of the Union, CUMNE was able to enlist more competent, committed and well connected coop leaders in the affairs of the union. And it is also in compliance with RA 9520, mandated that all elected and appointed officers of primary cooperatives needs to undergo a series of trainings. Another key factor to the visibility and continuity of education and training and activities of CUMNE was networking. Taking advantages of information and relationships, key officers have had resources in and out the City. A workshop on curriculum design and module development was scheduled to enable trainers to develop their modules. The leadership and management of the Cooperative Union have been fortunately endowed with a team of officers and leaders, whose combine experience and expertise have been “intellectual capital”, an invaluable asset to the Union, not only in education and training but also especially in advocacy for the movement.
