ON THE BASIS OF “ART AS INSPIRATION, THE SPIRITUAL AND AESTHETIC
DIMENSION OF NATURE, AND METAPHORS OF ORGANIC GROWTH”(VANSPANCKEREN).
• WRITINGS
STARTED TO BECOME MORE EMOTIONAL BECAUSE OF THIS NEW INSPIRATIONAL
SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FEELINGS.

• JANE AUSTEN WAS A FAMOUS FEMALE AUTHOR MOST NOTABLE FOR HER WORKS IN THE GENRE
OF ROMANCE. A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF THIS WOULD BE THE BOOK EMMA.
SIGNIFICANT WORKS
• CONCORD HYMN BY RALPH WALDO EMERSON IS A SHORT POEM THAT SUMS UP THE
SACRIFICE AND SPIRIT OF THOSE WHO FOUGHT AT THE BATTLE OF CONCORD. THIS WAS SUNG
AT THE COMPLETION OF THE CONCORD MONUMENT.
• THE PRELUDE BY WILLIAM WORDSWORTH IS A WORK THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS A
WORK OF ART. HIS BEAUTIFUL WAY WITH DESCRIPTIONS SHINES THE BRIGHTEST HERE WHICH
MAKES THIS THE MOST FAMOUS OF HIS WORKS.
• ROBERT SOUTHEY’S GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS IS A CLASSIC THAT MANY STILL
REMEMBER TODAY. THOUGH, THE ORIGINAL EMPHASIZED THE WICKEDNESS OF THE GIRL, AN
OLD WOMAN HERE, AND THE HOSPITALITY OF THE BEARS.

D.C., NEW YORK PASSES EMANCIPATION ACT, OHIO OUTLAWS SLAVES, LOUISIANA
PURCHASE, LEWIS AND CLARK’S EXPEDITION, JAMES MADISON ELECTED PRESIDENT.

1831-1850: MARTIN VAN BUREN ELECTED PRESIDENT, “PANIC OF 1837,” FIRST TELEGRAPH SENT
