Comedian Jamie Lissow (Mandatory Event)
Junker Center
Jamie Lissow's first experience doing stand-up comedy was when he placed 5th in a comedy contest in Toronto,
Canada. And there were only 3 contestants. He was hooked. He began turning heads right away when he would yell
very loudly in crowded places. Jamie was then invited to do the Montreal Comedy Festival, in the sought after New
Faces Category. At the time his face was only 25 years old so it was a perfect match. The set went well, and he has
since been on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show, NBC's Late Friday, Last Comic Standing, Star
Search and in his own 1/2 hour special on Comedy Central. He has performed at hundreds of colleges and been
nominated for Campus Performer of the Year by Campus Activities Magazine. Jamie has been heard on XM/Sirrius
Radio, Pandora, Opie and Anthony, The Bob and Tom Show and has appeared on Fox News Redeye over 30 times.
He is currently working on a television show with SNL star Rob Schneider and is living in Austin, TX.

Speaker Series Presents: Jamie Tworkowski “To Write Love on Her Arms
In 2006, Jamie Tworkowski founded To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), a non-profit group dedicated
to helping those who suffer from depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicidal tendencies find hope,
support, and love. TWLOHA began as a simple attempt to tell the story of a friend in need of treatment,
and soon became an internet phenomenon and global movement. In 2010, Mashable named TWLOHA
the "Must-Follow Non-Profit" and in 2011, TWLOHA was awarded $1 million from the American Giving
Awards. In order to fund his friend's treatment, Jamie Tworkowski posted a blog on Myspace and began
selling t-shirts. Supported by the bands Switchfoot, Anberlin, and Paramore, TWLOHA became widely
recognized in the music world, and its message was spread across towns and cities all over the world.

Derreck Kayongo and his family fled a civil war in Uganda and settled in the U.S. when Kayongo was just
ten years old. Now a successful entrepreneur, Kayongo is a renowned expert in environmental
sustainability and global health. Kayongo is the founder of the Global Soap Project: a program which

Kayongo's Global Soap Recycling enterprise has recently expanded to Hong Kong. A franchisee
operation has opened a factory to reprocess soap called the Soap Cycling. Today the Global Soap
