ALL ABOUT SOUND!
By Brooke and Chantell
What is sound?
Sound is made when an object vibrates forwards and
backwards really quickly. The sound waves travel
through the air. As the sound waves travel the energy
runs out and the sound stops. Sound can travel
through air, water and best of all metal.
How do we hear?
We hear the sounds through our ears. We have many different parts to
our ears. These are pinna, ear canal, eardrum, hammer, anvil, stirrup,
cochlea, auditory nerve then it goes to your brain. The main ones are
hammer, anvil and stirrup, which are the smallest bones in your ear.
How can sounds be different
Sounds are different depending on what the object is if it’s a big
object it will make a loud sound but if its
small it makes a quite sound. For example if it’s a metal radiator it
makes a high pitched noise.
