 What were the political and economic motivations behind the colonization of the Americas by Britain,
France, Spain, and Portugal?
 Compare and contrast the colonial institutions in the New World.
 What was the role of religion in the New World?
 What were the interactions between the indigenous peoples and the colonizers?
 Describe the origins of slavery.
