PART ONE:
Application procedure for scholarships using the Class of 2015 Scholarship Application Form
All applications in Part 1 must be completed using the 2015 Scholarship Application Form and be received
via email at scholarships@arps.org by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, unless otherwise stipulated by the
scholarship sponsor, NO EXCEPTIONS.
1. Read the instructions and qualifications for each scholarship carefully. Select the scholarships for which you believe
you are qualified.
2. Open the e-mail from Mrs. Ross with the ARHS 2015 Scholarship Application Form attached. A “read only” version of
the application is also available in the Naviance document library on your home page and on the ARHS website
(http://www.arhs.arps.org/academics/guidance_office).

* You will complete and submit it electronically.*
3. Complete the application form. Note that applications for all of these scholarships will be essentially the same except
for the name of the scholarship at the beginning and the essay pertinent to the particular criteria of the scholarship,
pasted at the end of the application form.
4. Select a scholarship for which you wish to apply. Make sure that the name of the scholarship is indicated at
the top of the form and that the appropriate essay is pasted at the bottom. Save the document with the
scholarship name. Put the name of the scholarship in the subject line of an e-mail with the completed form
and essay attached and send it to:

5. Repeat this process for each scholarship for which you will apply, changing the name at the top and attaching an
essay at the end. Put the name of the scholarship in the subject line of a new email and send to scholarships@arps.org.
6. You may want to print a copy of a completed form and keep it just in case there is an unforeseen computer
malfunction.
7. All applications must be received via e-mail by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 (no exceptions) unless
otherwise indicated by scholarship sponsor.

School of Management is not required. Recipients are asked to attend Chamber’s Annual Dinner in
October for formal presentation. The funds will be transferred to their bursar account at the beginning

The Amherst Lions club, dedicated to community and humanitarian service, offers a scholarship to a
senior with a record of community service and intent to enter a field dedicated to their mission.
Students planning to work in social work or other human services, education, nursing, or other
related fields are encouraged to apply.
Amherst Woman’s Club
To two seniors (boys or girls) continuing their education after high school. Decision is based on
academic achievement, (minimum of 3.5 GPA), promise and evidence of interest and
ambitions expressed in the essay. Financial need is considered, but is not a requirement for this
scholarship. Interviews of finalists will be held at the high school in April.

(I.O.O.F. Lodge # 152)
To a senior with a record of significant community service and the intention to continue with education
or vocational training. (Student must address his/her community service activities in the
essay. The community service component is weighted twice that of scholarship and
financial need.) Winner, their family and guidance counselor will be invited to an Odd Fellows Award
Dinner to be held May 13th.

Scholarship
To 2 senior athletes continuing their education at a college, university, community college, vocational

This scholarship recognizes student athletes who have maintained a 2.75 GPA or above and have
received a minimum of three varsity letters in one or more sports. Financial need is considered, but

Given to honor this dedicated Amherst citizen. Criteria: Recipients must continue their education
at an institution of higher learning and begin this education in September following graduation.
Recipients must be current residents of Amherst and must have attended Amherst
elementary schools (or the Amherst Common School) for six years, and the
Amherst/Pelham Regional Middle and High School for six years. Candidates must have a
GPA of 3.0 or above. And, most importantly, the candidates must show sincere dedication
and service to the Amherst Community, the Town, Amherst/Pelham Regional School
District or be active and involved in school activities.

Scholarship
Presented to a senior who has been involved in the Amherst LSSE Community Theater. The
applicant must have acted on stage, been a member of the backstage crew, orchestra, or contributed
in any other significant capacity. To be considered, applicant must submit a one page, typed, doublespaced essay about what their experience in this community theater has meant to them. This
scholarship may be awarded to one individual, or be divided among several. Deadline is April 1,

The Springfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is accepting applications for a
scholarship for academic study from young black women from the greater Springfield and Pioneer

provide proof that she has been admitted to a four year institution of higher learning; have a minimum

Scholarship
Renewable, 4 year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic excellence, a
commitment to serving others in school, the community or home, and a strong work ethic. Limited to
residents of New England and range from $3000 to $10,000.

Educational Trust, Inc.
of Amherst
The Wilbur H.S. Ward Educational Trust, Inc. of Amherst (one of many scholarships found in
Community Foundation) provides scholarships to students planning to attend UMASS Amherst or
the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. This scholarship is distributed through the Community
Foundation of Western Massachusetts, and all students who apply to the Community Foundation and
plan to attend one of these schools will be considered for it. Deadline for the Community
Foundation is March 31st.
