Job 4:17-19
17 'Can a mortal be more righteous than
God? Can a man be more pure than his
Maker?
18 If He puts no trust in His servants, if
He charges His angels with error,
19 How much more those who dwell in
houses of clay, whose foundation is in the
dust, who are crushed before a moth?
Don’t mistakenly think Eliphaz was right!
God entrusts His angels with awesome power and
authority as they work to accomplish His will
Matthew 18:10
10 "Take heed that you do not despise
one of these little ones, for I say to you
that in heaven their angels always see the
face of My Father who is in heaven.
Every brother, sister, and young person has an
angel assigned to them. God doesn’t leave anything
to chance! Be aware of their presence, thank God
for them, and don’t frustrate their work.
Angels don’t know the final outcome anymore than
we do today with our converts (1 Cor 3) until the
fire tests our work. This adds to their excitement!
Acts 12:5-9
5
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer
was offered to God for him by the church.
6
And when Herod was about to bring him out, that
night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two
soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the
prison.
7
Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a
light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and
raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off
his hands.
8
Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on
your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on
your garment and follow me."
9
So he went out and followed him, and did not know
that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was
seeing a vision.
Note the power of this angel to free Peter,
and his compassion in dealing with Peter
Acts 12:13-16
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a
girl named Rhoda came to answer.
14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of
her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in
and announced that Peter stood before the gate.
15 But they said to her, "You are beside yourself !"
Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said,
"It is his angel."
16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they
opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.
They knew Peter had an angel watching over him
Genesis 28:12-15
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on
the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels
of God were ascending and descending on it.
13 And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: "I am
the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac;
the land on which you lie I will give to you and your
descendants.
14 "Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the
earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the
north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the
families of the earth shall be blessed.
15 "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you
go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you
until I have done what I have spoken to you."
This angel stayed with Jacob all his life,
and Jacob learned to trust him!
Genesis 31:11
11 "Then the Angel of God spoke to me in
a dream, saying, 'Jacob.' And I said, 'Here I
am.'
Genesis 31:24
24 But God had come to Laban the Syrian in
a dream by night, and said to him, "Be careful
that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad."
Angels can influence human lives through dreams.
Angels took care of Jacob in all his troubles.
Genesis 31:29
29 "It is in my power to do you harm, but the God
of your father spoke to me last night, saying, 'Be
careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.'
42 "Unless the God of my father, the God of
Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me,
surely now you would have sent me away emptyhanded. God has seen my affliction and the labor of
my hands, and rebuked you last night."
The angels are very aware of
the way others treat us. They
do intervene to help us out.
Genesis 32:1-2, 9-12

him.
So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met
2
When Jacob saw them, he said, "This is God's camp."
And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.
9
Then Jacob said, "O God of my father Abraham and
God of my father Isaac, the LORD who said to me, (an angel
– 31:11-13) 'Return to your country and to your family, and I
will deal well with you':
10 "I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of
all the truth which You have shown Your servant; for I crossed
over this Jordan with my staff, and now I have become two
companies.
11 "Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from
the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and attack me
and the mother with the children.
12 "For You said, 'I will surely treat you well, and make
your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be
numbered for multitude.'"
Genesis 32:24-27
24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled
with him until the breaking of day.
25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail
against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and
the socket of Jacob's hip was out of joint as He
wrestled with him.
26 And He said, "Let Me go, for the day breaks."
But he said, "I will not let You go unless You bless
me!"
27 So He said to him, "What is your name?" And
he said, "Jacob."
Jacob knew his family was in trouble. He
needed his angel to save his family and held
on till he received the angel’s blessing
Hosea 12:3-5
3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb,
and in his strength he struggled with God.
4 Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed;
he wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him
in Bethel, and there He spoke to us-5 That is, the LORD God of hosts. The LORD
is His memorable name.
Jacob prevailed through tears!
He pleaded with his angel for help.
That’s what we need to do.
Genesis 32:28-30
28 And He said, "Your name shall no longer be
called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with
God and with men, and have prevailed."
29 Then Jacob asked, saying, "Tell me Your
name, I pray." And He said, "Why is it that you ask
about My name?" And He blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:
"For I have seen God face to face, and my life is
preserved."
Part of Jacob’s personal relationship with God,
was through his relationship with his angel.
This is an important step for ourselves.
Genesis 48:15-16
15 And he blessed Joseph, and said: "God, before
whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the
God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
16 The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil,
bless the lads; let my name be named upon them,
and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and
let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the
earth."
There is no separation between God and
his angels. Their work is His work.
Their blessing is His blessing.
Some angels may work in families.
Exodus 33:1-3
1
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Depart and go up
from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of
the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob, saying, 'To your descendants I will give it.'
2
"And I will send My Angel before you, and I will drive
out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the
Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.
3
"Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I
will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way for
you are a stiff-necked people."
Angels send other angels on missions. This angel was
running out of patience with this stiff-necked people
and wanted to send another angel in his place.
Exodus 33:9-11
9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the
tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and
stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD
talked with Moses.
10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing
at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and
worshiped, each man in his tent door.
11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a
man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the
camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a
young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.
Moses knew this angel personally and had
developed a trusting relationship with him.
Exodus 33:12-16
12 Then Moses said to the LORD, "See, You say to me,
'Bring up this people.' But You have not let me know whom
You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by
name, and you have also found grace in My sight.'
13 "Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your
sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I
may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is
Your people."
14 And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will
give you rest."
15 Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go
with us, do not bring us up from here.
16 "For how then will it be known that Your people and I
have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we
shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who
are upon the face of the earth."
Moses really wanted this angel to stay with him!
Exodus 33:17-20
17
So the LORD said to Moses, "I will also do
this thing that you have spoken; for you have found
grace in My sight, and I know you by name."
18 And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."
19 Then He said, "I will make all My goodness
pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the
LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will
be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I
will have compassion."
20 But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no
man shall see Me, and live."
This angel mercifully agreed to stay with
Moses and help him personally lead the nation.
This angel was one of the most powerful
manifestations of our heavenly Father.
Exodus 24:1-11
Now He said to Moses, "Come up to the
LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and
seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from
afar.
2 "And Moses alone shall come near the LORD,
but they shall not come near; nor shall the people go
up with him."
1
Then Moses went up, also Aaron, Nadab, and
Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,
10 and they saw the God of Israel. And there was
9
under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire
stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity.
11 But on the nobles of the children of Israel He
did not lay His hand. So they saw God, and they ate
and drank.
Leviticus 10:1-3
1
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took
his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered
profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded
them.
2
So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them,
and they died before the LORD.
3
And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD
spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be
regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be
glorified.' "So Aaron held his peace.
Nadab & Abihu had seen an angel revealing the
glory of God, but it didn’t change their lives.
Feeling the presence of the angels with us will
help us to glorify & honor God at all times
Daniel 8:13-16
13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to
that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the vision
be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of
desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be
trampled under foot?"
14 And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred days;
then the sanctuary shall be cleansed."
15 Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was
seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one
having the appearance of a man.
16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, who
called, and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the
vision."
Some angels know more than others!
Angels may help us understand God’s word.
Daniel 8:17-19
17 So he came near where I stood, and when he
came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said
to me, "Understand, son of man, that the vision
refers to the time of the end."
18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep
sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched
me, and stood me upright.
19 And he said, "Look, I am making known to you
what shall happen in the latter time of the
indignation; for at the appointed time the end
shall be.
Angels want to help! Like true friends they
touch, strengthen, and help us understand.
1 Samuel 3:1-10
1 Then the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before
Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days;
there was no widespread revelation.
2 And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying
down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to
grow so dim that he could not see,
3 and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle
of the LORD where the ark of God was, and while
Samuel was lying down,
4 that the LORD called Samuel. And he answered, "Here
I am!"
5 So he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called
me." And he said, "I did not call; lie down again." And
he went and lay down.
1 Samuel 3:1-10
6 And the LORD called yet again, "Samuel!" So Samuel arose and
went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." And he
answered, "I did not call, my son; lie down again."
7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, nor was the word of
the LORD yet revealed to him.)
8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. Then he
arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you did call me."
Then Eli perceived that the LORD had called the boy.
9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if
He calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, LORD, for Your servant
hears.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times,
"Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your
servant hears."
This angel patiently introduced
himself to the young boy Samuel!
Luke 24:4-8
4
And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about
this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.
5
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the
earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among
the dead?
6
"He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke
to you when He was still in Galilee,
7
"saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the
hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise
again.'“ (see Mark 9:30-32)
8
And they remembered His words.
Angels are with us all the time. Even when we
think we are alone. They hear and see everything
we do and think. It’s essential for their work.
They patiently wait for us to develop.
Acts 27:22-25
22 "And now I urge you to take heart, for there
will be no loss of life among you, but only of the
ship.
23 "For there stood by me this night an angel of
the God to whom I belong and whom I serve,
24 "saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be
brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted
you all those who sail with you.'
25 "Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God
that it will be just as it was told me.
Angel reassured Paul in a crisis time for him.
Angels will stand by you too during tough times
Luke 15:8-10
8 "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if
she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the
house, and search carefully until she finds it?
9 "And when she has found it, she calls her
friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with
me, for I have found the piece which I lost!'
10 "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the
presence of the angels of God over one sinner who
repents."
Angels rejoice together. Share each other’s joy.
There’s no jealousy and no competition!
Now is our opportunity to practice living like angels!
Acts 1:9-11
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while
they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received
Him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward
heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by
them in white apparel,
11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you
stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who
was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in
like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."
As Jesus ascended into heaven, angels remained
to continue their work as ministering spirits for
the sake of those who will inherit salvation!

Matthew 4:10-11
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan!
For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your
God, and Him only you shall serve.'"
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels
came and ministered to Him.

Matthew 26:36-38
36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called
Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here
while I go and pray over there."
37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons
of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and
deeply distressed.
38 Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly
sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with
Me."
In his time of great sorrow and distress,
Jesus needed his friends
Matthew 26:39-41
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face,
and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible,
let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will,
but as You will."
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them
asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not
watch with Me one hour?
41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into
temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh
is weak."
The disciples were overcome and bewildered by
what Jesus was going through. They let him down.
Matthew 26:42-43
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed,
saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me
unless I drink it, Your will be done."
43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their
eyes were heavy.
Luke 22:43-44
43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven,
strengthening Him.
44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then
His sweat became like great drops of blood falling
Matthew 26:43
43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their
eyes were heavy.
When Jesus’ friends failed,
an angel came through for him!
John 20:10-14
10 Then the disciples went away again to their own
homes.
11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as
she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.
12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the
head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had
lain.
13 Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you
weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away
my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."
14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and
saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
