We are fascinated by their mistakes, their humility, their ability to laugh at themselves, and their slow evolution of perspective. It is sometimes comforting to know that others seem to fail as often and as oddly as we do. It is comforting, too, to know that others, more articulate than we are, evolve, along with that mysterious perspective, a profound sense of forgiveness, of both themselves and others. And it is even more comforting to have such stories told to us with style, the way a writer has found an individual expression of a personal truth. --Scott Walker The Task: Compose ONE focused essay based on your college admission question.
