geology, earth and space education, or engineering geology major. Students must maintain at

AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY

SUSAN CODA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Applicants must be women residents of the State of Utah, and have graduated
from a high school in Utah. They must have achieved and maintained high scholastic
standards. Additionally, the applicants must provide proof of acceptance to a four-year
college or university outside the State of Utah. Scholarship recipients must plan on attending
a college out of state. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of current scholastic
achievement and community involvement, as well as personal and professional goals.

BLITMAN DIVERSITY IN ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: The Maureen L. and Howard N. Blitman Scholarship in Engineering is awarded
annually to a high school senior from an ethnic minority group who has been accepted to an
ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. Applicants are
evaluated on their GPA, internship experience, community involvement and academic
achievement.

SOUTH HIGH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
CRITERIA: South High Alumni Association has a limited number of private scholarships to
attend Salt Lake Community College, which is awarded on a combination of need and merit.
Applicants must be a South High School Alumnus or a direct descendent of a South High
alumnus (i.e., your mother or father graduated from SLCC). Applicants must be a degree or
certificate-seeking student at Salt Lake Community College. Applicants must also intend to
register for at least 9, but no more than 18, credit hours in an eligible program. A minimum
2.5 grade point average is required for graduating high school seniors. U.S. citizenship is
required.

WEBER STATE COLLEGE “DREAM” SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Dream Weber is a program that provides free tuition to students who are U.S.
citizens and whose annual household income is $25,000 or less. How is this possible? The
Dream Weber Program uses a combination of federal and state financial aid and money given
to the University from generous donors. The purpose of the program is to help individuals
complete a college degree-thereby improving their earning potential and benefiting society

SNOW COLLEGE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: The Ambassadors conduct all campus tours, Snow Blasts, and many other public
relations event throughout the school year. Each Ambassador received up to a 2-year
scholarship plus leadership training that may help you get a job or scholarship after you
graduate from Snow and move on to a 4-year college of university. Service projects and
training retreats are also part of the program.

MARRIOTT SCHOLARS PROGRAM
CRITERIA: The Marriott Scholars Program offers financial support of up to $9,000 per year
for four years coupled with opportunities for on-going career guidance and mentoring by
Marriott Hotel managers and corporate executives. To be eligible, applicants must be of
Hispanic/Latino heritage, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be and upcoming freshmen in
fall 2011, and plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in a hospitality
management or culinary program.

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SPIRIT OF YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Candidates shall be Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary, have held
membership in the American Auxiliary for the past three years. SAT or ACT scores and at
least a 3.0 GPA. AMOUNT: One (four year) scholarship will be awarded in each division of
the Auxiliary.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) SCHOLARSHIPS
CRITERIA: Tuition awards for outstanding CTE students. Award covers ONE year of full
tuition only at various institutions (visit website for more info). Eligible candidates are those
who are planning on attending a post-secondary institution in a CTE program that is a twoyear Associate Degree program or less (preceding immediate employment in that area) OR
those who are planning to teach in a CTE area (a four-year program). All other four-year
programs will be disqualified.

UTAH SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS JOE RHOADS SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: The Utah Society of Professional Engineers will award a $1,000 to graduating
high school seniors in the summer of 2011. This scholarship recognizes students planning to
become engineers. Applicants must be a high school senior living in Utah with a 3.5 or higher
GPA entering college in 2011. A 30 ACT score in match and a 26 in English on the ACT is
required.

CRITERIA: Pacific Islander student who will be attending the University of Utah. The Dan
Hola Leadership Scholarships recognize outstanding students with a commitment to the
Pacific Islander community and seek to encourage the development of leadership skills and
support academic success. The Dan Hola Scholarships are available to students who have
demonstrated experience with, or commitment to serving or working with, Pacific Islander
communities/populations and are currently attending or planning to enroll at the University

CRITERIA: The Salt Lake City Chapter will be awarding several scholarships in 2011 to

SNOW COLLEGE ZIONS BANK FOUNDER SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Zion’s Bank Founders Scholarship Program will award a four-year, full-tuition
scholarship annually to twelve Utah and one Idaho high school students. Scholarships will be
awarded to students who will be attending each of the state's institutions of higher learning.
Each respective university will select a scholarship recipient based on scholarship,
citizenship and community involvement.

CRITERIA: The Utah Jump$tart Coalition/UHEAA Scholarship has been designed to reward
the achievement of Utah youth in regards to financial literacy. The Utah Jump$tart Coalition
and UHEAA will award scholarships to eligible Utah students who demonstrate their
knowledge of financial literacy and preparation for post-secondary education. Applicants

CRITERIA: The American Indian Education Foundation was established to support
educational opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students. Their vision is
strong, self-sufficient American Indian communities. Scholarships are awarded for each
school year and are chosen by a national selection committee. Decisions are based on an
overall assessment of the application. Applicants must be of Native American or Alaskan
descent (student or one parent must be enrolled and have documentation). Applicant must
plan to attend an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school full-time.
Preferred grade point average between 2.0 to 3.4 with an ACT score of 14 or above is
desirable, but not required.

PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Select resident/non-resident high school seniors, who will be entering freshmen
and who qualify for honors at Entrance Scholarship. Selection is based on academic
excellence, leadership, and civic activities. Refer to “Honors at Entrance Scholarship” heading

AMOUNT: 50 awards with an approximate value of $27,000 (includes resident tuition

HONORS AT ENTRANCE
CRITERIA: Seniors of an accredited Utah High School, public or private, who will be entering
freshmen. Students must meet one or several of the following criteria:
(1) Be a National Merit Finalist and have a converted SAT and ACT composite score of 28 or
higher
(2) Have a 3.9 or higher GPA

FRESHMEN SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: To be considered for scholarships applicants must apply for fall 2011, be a US
Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status, attend Utah State Logan main campus, have
intent to graduate from Utah State University and major in a USU program. Scholarships are
affective for fall semester 2011 and are subject to change. Only students who apply and meet
the requirements by December 1, 2009 are guaranteed scholarship amounts.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS:
 Presidential Scholarship: 4 yrs, full tuition and student body fees, 131 index score
minimum.
 Dean’s Scholarship: 2 yrs, full tuition, 126 index score minimum
 Aggie Scholar: 2 yrs, $4,000, 120 index score minimum
 Merit Scholarship: 1 yr, $1,200, 117 index score minimum
 Achievement Scholarship: 1 yr, $650, 112 index score minimum

UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY
ACADEMIC MERIT
CRITERIA: To be considered for Academic Merit Scholarships, applicants must be admitted
to UVU and provide the scholarships office with a copy of high school grade transcripts, ACT
scores and the completion of the online comprehensive scholarship application (app avail
November 1) by February 1, 2011. Applications will not be considered until all requirements
are met. Applications received after the deadline will receive second priority consideration.
Academic Scholarships are as follows:
 Presidential: Full tuition, fees and stipend will be awarded depending on availability
of funds.
