What internally motivates me is
feeling loved from close family
and from my boyfriend.
“After the verb ‘To love’, ‘To help’ is the most beautiful verb in the
world.” -Bertha Von Suttner
The Right Choice
Desparte for the love,
Temptations of sin,
I kept the right ones out,
And let the wrong ones in,
I wanted the attention from you,
But all you gave was a slap in the face,
From the start I should have knew,
Then you left with out a trace,
“Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace.” -Amelia
Earhart
(cont.)
You treated me like a whore,
I thought we were meant for each other,
It was my heart that you tore,
You left my life in a stutter,
“The first problem for all of us, Men and women, is not to learn
but to unlearn.” -Gloria Steinem
(cont.)
When I came to my senses and went to family,
I was hoping that they would not turn their
backs on me,
But with open arms they took me in,
Thye showered love on me and washed away
the sin,
“Inever notice what has been done. I only see what remains to be
done.” -Madame Curie
(cont.)
I came face to face with my love today,
And for my strength to God I pray,
I learned from my mistakes and did not go to
him,
I chose the love of family rather than the sin.
“People see God every day; They just don’t recognize him.” Pearl Bailey
When I found out that my mother
was in the hospital I was really
broken. My family, friends and
my boyfriend gave me a lot of
advice to get me through it and
they were there for me to lean
on.
“I don’t want to live - I want to love first, and live incidentally.” Zelda Fitzgerald
song
Amazing
I kept the right ones out
And let the wrong ones in
Had an angel of mercy to see me through all
my sins
“I’m just a person trapped inside a woman’s body.” -Elaine
Boosler
(cont.)
There were times in my life
When I was goin' insane
Tryin' to walk through
The pain
When I lost my grip
And I hit the floor
Yeah, I thought I could leave but couldn't get
out the door
“I never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back.” -Zsa
Zsa Gabor
(cont.)
I was so sick and tired
Of a livin' a lie
I was wishin' that I
Would die
It's Amazing
With the blink of an eye you finally see the
light
“...love is the only thing that we can carry with us when we go,
and it makes the end so easy.” -Louisa May Alcott
(cont.)
It's Amazing
When the moment arrives that you know
you'll be alright
It's Amazing
And I'm sayin' a prayer for the desperate
hearts tonight
“You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.” -Indira Gandhi
(cont.)
That one last shot's a Permanent Vacation
And how high can you fly with broken wings?
Life's a journey not a destination
And I just can't tell just what tomorrow brings
You have to learn to crawl
Before you learn to walk
But I just couldn't liten to all that righteous
talk
“It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do
yourself.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
(cont.)
I was out on the street,
Just a tryin' to survive
“Don’t compomise yourself. You are all you’ve got.” -Betty Ford
poem
It’s lovely
It’s lovely when one of them with a high
jeweled hat and a crucifix the size of
George Washington's hatchet gets caught in
the act. We hug ourselves with happiness.
We shrug when we hear that the alcoholic
Jesuit is spending the winter in medical
seclusion, that the rabbi is laying the Ladies
Aid Society, the baldheaded Buddhist
smuggling in machine guns.
“We’ve chosen the path to equality, don’t let them turn us
around.” -Geraldine A. Ferraro
(cont.)
It’s hard to hate them when they’re so human.
All the tales of Boccaccio wine us and dine
us even on the deathbed, holier-than-thou.
No matter how hard they try to rub it out,
religion has love and kisses at the bottom.
And because we know it has love at the
bottom we follow the helmeted chaplain
into battle. Onward, he yells, for God and
country. Hurrah for Israel!
“We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all
different and yet the same.” -Anne Frank
(cont.)
Long live the Holy Roman Empire! Three
cheers for Schleswig-Holstein and
Carthage, Illinois! (That’s where the
Mormons got it in the neck.) In truth, there
are two religions and two American flags,
one for the rich and one for the poor. But
they look so much alike we forget which
one we are following.
“Don’t be humble: your not that great.” -Golda Meir
(cont.)
And after that there’s church, the cosmos
divided into calendar of revolutions that
failed. All of them fail, the heroes turned
out of their graves. In the long run the only
hope is for more human error on the part of
the holy. Their sin is our salvation.
“Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people
you are, you aren’t.” -Margaret Thatcher
