The Main Character in the Story is Okonkwo

When he was older he start to manage himself
He was the strongest brave man in Umuofia
When he loses himself he can’t control it
He wanted to killed someone until his death
OKONKWO THE VICTORIOUS

No one in the Nine Villages can beat the
Amalinze the Cat
UNOKA, OKONKWO’S LAZY FATHER AND HE
WAS THE DEBTOR

This man was a
debtor drunkard lazy
man

No people in
Umuofia respect him
People Don’t like this
unsuccessful lazy
man
Unoka died in debt,
which is why
Okonkwo is
ashamed of him
NWOYE BECOME A CHRISTIAN
Nwoye joined the
white men who came
and built a church in
Umuofia
 He did not want to go
back to his father
Okonkwo
 Because he did not
like the way Nwoye
was changing

IKEMEFUNA
Ikemefuna was the
adoptive son
 Ikemefuna stayed
with Okonkwo for
three years
 And he started to call
Okonkwo “father”
 Ikemefuna always
helped Okonkwo with
the Yams

EKWEFI, OKONKWO’S SECOND WIFE
Ekwefi always
prepared food for her
husband
 She only had one
daughter named
Enzinma

ENZINMA’S GETTING MARRIED
Enzinma grew so
beautiful and
Okonkwo did not
want her to marry
the Mbaino man
 He wanted her to get
married with one of
the Umuofian
 Enzinma respected
her father Okonkwo

WHO IS OBIERIKA?
Obierika was a friend
of Okonkwo
 Obierika was a great
father and he had a
son name Maduka
-Maduka was a
great wrestler too
 Obierika had one
daughter named
Akueke

THE 9 MASKED SPIRIT EGWUGWUS
The Umuofia people
believed in them as
their gods
 Okonkwo was one of
them

THE EVIL FOREST
The Evil Forest was a
sacred place in Things
Fall Apart
 Where sick men are
taken to die out there
 Twins are killed there
when they are just
born
 No one dared build or
farm there, as it was
land reserved for the
gods

SMALL COMPOUND
OKONKWO YAMS
These are the yams
that Okonkwo has
worked hard for
 It was for him and all
his families to survive

THE SYMBOL OF THE DRUM IN UMUOFIA
If the people in
Umuofia heard the
sound of a drum
something was going
to happen
 If Okonkwo heard a
sound of it he would
go and find out what
happened

THE KOLA NUT REPRESENTED THEIR
CULTURE
THE PRIESTESS
The priestess’ name
was Chielo who was
possessed by the
spirit of her goddess
 Chielo took away
Enzinma from Ekwefi
 Ekwefi ran after
Chielo to take back
Enzinma
 Okonkwo was just
waiting until Ekwefi
came back

THE WHITE MISSIONARIES
The missionaries
came to Umuofia to
build a church
 Okonkwo really hated
them
 They built their
house in the Evil
Forest
 The people in
Umuofia expected
them to die in the Evil
Forest

OBIERIKA AND THE WHITE MEN
The white men were
looking for Okonkwo
for what he had done
 He had killed a
messenger
 And he had to flee
from Umuofia
 The white men asked
Obierika if he saw
Okonkwo
 But Okonkwo already
hung himself

