Finish with proper concluding statements as well, and don’t forget to sign your name. Day 5 • Today you should tell me how you relate to your book. It might be to a certain character or to an issue within your book. If it is fantasy or sci-fi, perhaps it is about something in your imagination. • Be creative and think outside the box for this one! • Be detailed! Day 6 • You are trying to drum up support for your book, and to do so, you have been invited to do a radio ad for the local radio station. Write an appropriate ad that could be performed on the radio to interest listeners in your book. Make sure to discuss its intriguing qualities while not giving away critical information about the plot, action, and characters. Utilize what you know about suspense to interest potential readers. • Also, do you want to use the same language as the book? Do you want to speak as a character in the book or as yourself? Make sure to include several questions that will engage radio listeners and interest them in your book! Also consider: How can you begin your ad and grab listeners’ attention right away? • Make this exciting and fun to read/hear! Day 7 • What are you learning as you are reading your book? What are the characters teaching you? What are the themes of your book that have valuable lessons? Reading books can open your eyes to important ideas, so what are you learning from yours?? • Write a Top 10 list of what you learned while reading this book. Day 8 • Write a detailed summary of your book, now that you have finished it. Be complete about including character details as well as notes about conflict, theme, suspense, etc. • After you have summarized, give me your honest opinion about it. Then rate it out of 5 stars.
