Important Note: This test administration manual will also be used for the Summer 2012 Algebra 1 EOC administration. 3 Glossary of Terms PearsonAccess – www.pearsonaccess.com/fl • A website used for almost all test preparation (e.g., PreID), setup, administration, and reporting tasks. • Correct test administration must be selected each time you log in. • Requires a username and password. • Link to support materials: www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC • PearsonAccess will timeout after 14 minutes of inactivity. 4 Glossary of Terms PearsonAccess Training Center • Accessed from the Training Center tab on PearsonAccess home page. • Provides an opportunity to ̶ ̶ Practice PearsonAccess tasks Manage the Infrastructure Trial in preparation for testing • Requires a username and password. 5 Glossary of Terms Proctor Caching • A process of locally loading or “caching” test content on a computer at the school level. • Does not require a separate caching server and can run on any workstation on the network that meets minimum requirements. • Software is provided by Pearson. • Reduces test delays due to network congestion. • Provides students with a more seamless testing experience. • Required for all FCAT/FCAT 2.0/EOC computer-based testing in Florida. 6 Glossary of Terms TestNav 6.9 (TestNav) • Platform for Florida’s high-stakes computer-based statewide assessments. • Software application installed either on a file server or on each computer that will be used for testing. Note: This is the TestNav address used for testing this spring; it is different from the address used for the Infrastructure Trial. 7 Glossary of Terms TestHear • Platform used to deliver accommodated forms (e.g., large print, zoom, color contrast, screen reader, assistive devices) for Florida’s high-stakes computer-based statewide assessments. • Software application installed on each computer that will be used to test students who require computer-based accommodations. • TestHear will operate on Windows PC workstations and on Macintosh workstations that have Mac OS 10.5 or later installed and are running Windows (e.g., via Boot Camp). 8 Glossary of Terms ePAT • Electronic Practice Assessment Tool • Provides students an opportunity to practice using the computer-based platform prior to testing. • Available for download at www.FLAssessments.com/ePATs. • Download ePAT launcher separately from practice test content. • Accommodated ePATs are also available. Please refer to Weekly Briefing #11599. 12 Algebra 1: Students to be Tested Algebra 1 The following students must participate in the Algebra 1 EOC Assessment administration: • All students who are enrolled in the following courses in 2011-12: – – – – – Algebra 1 – 1200310 Algebra 1 Honors – 1200320 Algebra 1-B – 1200380 Pre-AICE Mathematics 1 – 1209810 IB Middle Years Program/Algebra 1 Honors – 1200390 • Any student who completed one of the above courses through virtual coursework or adult education must take the Algebra 1 EOC Assessment. 13 Students to be Tested Algebra 1 (cont.) The following students are eligible to participate in the Algebra 1 EOC Assessment administration: • Students who need to retake the assessment to earn a passing score for course credit • Students in a credit acceleration program (CAP) who wish to take the assessment to earn course credit • Please Note: Students who entered 9th grade in the 2010–11 school year are not subject to the “passing” Algebra 1 EOC. – Their scores are averaged as 30% of their course grade – They must take the assessment if they take the Algebra 1 course and never taken the EOC – They may take the assessment if they are in grade forgiveness programs and wish to retake the assessment to improve their course grade 14 Biology 1: Students to be Tested Biology 1 The following students must participate in the Spring 2012 Biology 1 EOC Assessment administration: • All students who are enrolled in the following courses in 2011-12: Biology 1 – 2000310 IB Middle Years Program Biology Honors – 2000850 Biology 1 Honors – 2000320 Integrated Science 3 – 2002440 Pre-AICE Biology – 2000322 Integrated Science 3 Honors – 2002450 Biology Technology – 2000430 Advanced Placement Biology - 2000340 Biology 1 PreIB – 2000800 • Any student who completed one of the above courses through virtual coursework or adult education must take the Biology 1 EOC Assessment. • Students who entered grade 9 in the 2011–12 school year who are taking AP Biology 1 to meet the Biology 1 credit requirement for high school graduation must take the Biology 1 EOC Assessment. 15 Geometry: Students to be Tested Geometry The following students must participate in the Spring 2012 Geometry EOC Assessment administration: • All students who are enrolled in the following courses in 2011-12: – – – – Geometry – 1206310 Geometry Honors – 1206320 IB Middle Years Program Geometry Honors – 1206810 Pre-AICE Mathematics 2 – 1209820 • Any student who completed one of the above courses through virtual coursework or adult education must take 16 the Geometry EOC Assessment. Geometry: Students to be Tested Biology 1 and Geometry •Students who entered Grade 9 in the 2011-12 school year will have the Biology 1 and Geometry EOC score averaged as 30% of their final course grade. This cohort retains this requirement until they take the Biology 1 and Geometry EOC in high school. 17 US History Field Test: Students to be Tested U.S. History Field Test • Grades 9–12 students enrolled in the following courses at schools selected in the field test sample will be tested. – 2100310 – United States History – 2100320 – United States History Honors • Students who completed one of the above courses at the end of semester one should not participate in this field test administration. • Students with disabilities who are able to access computerbased assessments should participate in this field test administration. If you have any questions, please contact Joan Cortez at 305-995-3660. **District program not in the Test Administration Manual. 19 Students to be Tested: SWD Students Students With Disabilities • All students with disabilities participate in the statewide assessment program by taking one of the following: ̶ EOC Assessment without accommodations, ̶ EOC Assessment with accommodations, or ̶ Florida Alternate Assessment. • All determinations regarding participation in the statewide assessment program must be documented in the student’s IEP or Section 504 plan. • See Appendix A of the manual for information regarding accommodations. 20 Students to be Tested: ELL Students English Language Learners (ELLs) • All eligible ELL students are expected to participate in the EOC Assessments no matter how long these students have been receiving services. • See Appendix A of the manual for information regarding accommodations. 21 Computer-Based Accommodations for SWD • Large Print – 18 font • Color Contrast – Three color combinations are offered • Zoom – 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x,1.75x, 2x, 2.25x, 2.5x, 2.75x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 10x • Screen Reader (only available for Mathematics and Science assessments) • Assistive Devices Note: Accommodated forms may be combined as noted on page 204 of the manual. 22 Paper-Based Accommodations for SWD • Regular Print • Braille – Contracted or uncontracted Note: Large print on paper will not be available for CBT assessments. Students will be expected to take the test on the computer using TestHear LP accommodated form. 23 Administration Accommodations: SWD • Students with Disabilities – Accommodations documented in the student’s current IEP or 504 plan ▪ Flexible Presentation ▪ Flexible Responding ▪ Flexible Scheduling ▪ Flexible Setting ▪ Assistive Devices and Tools 24 Administration Accommodations: ELL • English Language Learners (ELLs) – Students who are currently receiving services in a program operated in accordance with an approved district LEP plan: Flexible Setting Flexible Scheduling Assistance in Heritage Language Approved Dictionary – ELL students in levels 1-4 only. 25 Test Administration and Security Procedures State and District Requirements • Standards, Guidelines, and Procedures for Test Administration and Test Security available at http://oada.dadeschools.net/TestCh airInfo/InfoForTestChair.asp. – Adopted by School Board – General Guidelines • Florida Test Security Statute and Rule (TAM, pg 13 & 323-326) – Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreement Form (TAM, pg 355) – Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreement (TAM, p 357) • School Procedural Checklist (FM6927) 26 Prohibited Activities: Florida Statute and State Board Education Rule • Reading the passages, test items, or performance tasks. • Revealing the passages, test items, or performance tasks. • Copying the passages, test items, or performance tasks. • Explaining or reading test items or passages for students. • Changing or otherwise interfering with student responses to test items. • Causing achievement of schools to be inaccurately measured or reported. • Copying or reading student responses. 27 Test Security Policies: Electronic Devices • Possession of any electronic device that reproduces, transmits, calculates, or records IS cause for invalidation. – “Possession” is defined as “within arm’s reach,” even if the electronic device is not visible. – Students should not have cell phones in their pockets, clipped to their belts, at their desks, or anywhere they can be easily accessed during testing. • Test administrators and proctors should also turn-off their electronic devices during testing. 28 Test Security Policies: Student Pledge • Prior to testing, students are required to read and agree to a student pledge. • Students taking a computer-based test must read and check a box indicating that they agree to adhere to the pledge. Students who do not check the “I agree” box should still be allowed to test. • Students taking a paper-based test sign beneath the pledge on page 2 of the test and answer book. • If a student refuses to agree to the pledge, the test administrator should note this in the record of required administration information and check the box for the student (CBT only). 29 Reporting Testing Irregularities • All school staff are professionally responsible for ensuring appropriate administration procedures and reporting any irregularities. – Specified in Standards, Guidelines, and Procedures for Test Administration and Test Security School Assessment Coordinator/Principal Student Assessment and Educational Testing Region Center and/or appropriate District Administrative Office Appropriate investigative unit, if applicable • Note: School personnel must be prepared to provide documentation and information in support of investigations of a testing irregularity. 30 Caveon Forensic Analyses • The FLDOE has contracted with Caveon Test Security to provide its Caveon Data Forensics™ for all statewide assessments. • Caveon will analyze data to identify highly unusual test results for two primary groups: – Students with extremely similar test responses; and – Schools with improbable levels of similarity, gains and/or erasures. • Flagging only the most extreme results 31 Test Administrator Before, During, and After Testing 32 Test Administrators • ALL test administrators must be certified educators. • Test administrators are required to sign a Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreement in addition to a Security Agreement. Certification numbers must be recorded on this document. • The EOC Administration and Security Agreement has been revised to emphasize the importance of proper training and the possible consequences of test administration irregularities. 33 Test Administrator Before Testing Read the test administration manual. Read the Test Administration Policies and Procedures and sign the Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreement. Read and sign the Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreement. Establish an appropriate setting for test administration and remove or cover any unauthorized aids in the testing room. Assemble and prepare all materials needed for test administration. Ensure that your students and parents understand the testing policies prior to the first day of testing. If you are administering tests to students who require accommodations, become familiar with the accommodations and discuss with your school assessment coordinator how accommodations will be provided. Ensure that you are familiar with how to open TestNav or TestHear to the login screen for each student computer prior to testing. 34 Establish an Appropriate Setting • Tests should be administered in a room that has comfortable seating, good lighting, adequate ventilation, and sufficient workspace. • Check the configuration of your testing room to make sure you will be able to provide a secure environment during testing. • Install visual barriers to ensure students are not able to easily view other students’ computer screens. • Post the sign that reads TESTING—Please Do Not Disturb and display starting and stopping times as soon as testing begins. • Remove or cover all visual aids in the room. 35 Establish an Appropriate Setting • When you arrive on the day of testing, open each student workstation in the testing room to the student login screen as indicated in the script, but do not log in for students. • Display the student comment form URL, or create shortcuts on student workstations to ensure each student is able to complete a form after testing. • Ensure that you have a way to contact the technology coordinator or the school assessment coordinator without leaving the room unattended.36 Materials Needed for Testing Test Administration Manual • You will need the Spring 2012 End-of-Course Test Administration Manual to read the test administration scripts to students. • When testing students who are allowed certain accommodations, you may need to modify the scripts. It is especially important that you review the scripts BEFORE testing begins to determine the necessary modifications. Do not interpret this as permission to paraphrase test items. • Scripts and instructions for the administration of paperbased forms are provided in Appendix A. • **Updated scripts for the administration of accommodated computer-based test forms (large print, color contrast, zoom, screen reader, assistive devices) are available at www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC. 37 Materials Needed for Testing Test Administration Manual (cont.) • Appendix D on page 333 is the CBT Test Administrator Quick Reference Guide. • This guide lists possible error messages students may encounter, explanations for each message, and possible solutions. • This guide is a helpful resource for test administrators during testing. 38 Updated TestHear Scripts • The Spring 2012 EOC Manual was printed prior to this functionality change; therefore the scripts in the manual should be replaced with the updated scripts distributed by FDOE and available at www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC. To administer the accommodated EOC ePATs: In place of pages 220-249 in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual, use the revised Script for Administering the Accommodated Practice Test (TestHear ePAT) for Algebra 1 EOC, the Script for Administering the Accommodated Practice Test (TestHear ePAT) for Biology 1 EOC , and the Script for Administering the Accommodated Practice Test (TestHear ePAT) for Geometry. • To administer the accommodated computer-based EOC Assessments: In place of pages 250-287 in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual, use the revised Script for Administering Accommodated Computer-Based Algebra 1 EOC Assessment, the Script for Administering Accommodated Computer-Based Biology 1 EOC Assessment, and the Script for Administering Accommodated Computer-Based Geometry EOC Assessment. Please pay special attention to updated instructions regarding hand-held calculators and scripts for TestHear forms (denoted by **). 39 Materials Needed for Testing Student Authorization Tickets • The School Assessment Coordinator sections of the manual provide instructions for scheduling students into test sessions and printing Student Authorization Tickets. – Please Note: Specific instructions for printing tickets for students enrolled in remedial coursework during the summer session will be provided through adult education. • For each test session, each student needs a Login ID and a test code (password), which are printed on the Student Authorization Tickets. • Students will need a pen or pencil during testing to sign their tickets. • The test administrator will give each student a ticket only AFTER all students have entered the testing room, as instructed in the script, and all tickets must be 40 collected BEFORE students leave the testing room. Materials Needed for Testing Student Authorization Tickets (cont.) Student Authorization Tickets must be handled in a secure manner and returned to the school assessment coordinator immediately after each day of testing is completed. 41 Materials Needed for Testing Session Roster • A Session Roster is a list of all students scheduled in a test session that displays important information including: ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ Test Administration Session Name Test to be Administered Test Code (password) Student Name Florida ID Number Student Date of Birth Class Information Login ID Blank space to record attendance information and accommodations used • The Session Roster may be used to record required administration information. 42 Materials Needed for Testing Session Roster (cont.) Session Rosters must be handled in a secure manner and returned to the school assessment coordinator immediately after each test session is completed. 43 Materials Needed for Testing Test Group Code • A test group code is a unique four-digit number used to identify a group of students testing together. • School assessment coordinators will generate a unique four-digit code for each test session. • Each group of tested students, initial or make-up, in a testing room should receive a unique test group code. • Students will enter the test group code before beginning the test, as indicated in the scripts. 44 Test Code & Test Group Code Test Code Test Group Code A six-digit code created by PearsonAccess and printed on Student Authorization Tickets and Session Rosters. The Login ID and the test code are required to log in to TestNav. A unique four-digit number created by school assessment coordinators used to identify groups of students tested together. The test group code is entered after the Welcome screen in TestNav and before students see the first question. 45 Materials Needed for Testing Reference Sheets and Periodic Tables • Paper reference sheets are provided to all students taking the Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC Assessments. • If your school will provide paper copies of periodic tables to students taking the Biology 1 EOC Assessment, make sure a sufficient number of copies is available. • Reference sheets and periodic tables are also available in the TestNav and TestHear software. www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC 46 Materials Needed for Testing Reference Sheets and Periodic Tables (cont.) • Once students complete the test, the test administrator should collect all reference sheets and periodic tables. • School assessment coordinators should return them in the District Assessment Coordinator Only box. • Used reference sheets and periodic tables are secure materials. 47 Materials Needed for Testing Four-Function Calculators • The computer-based TestNav Algebra 1 and Biology 1 EOC Assessments have a built-in four-function calculator. • Test administrators should have a supply of approved calculators for these students; if requested. No other calculators may be used. • **TestHear forms of the Algebra 1 and Biology 1 EOC Assessments do not include an online calculator. Hand-held calculators must be provided for students using TestHear accommodated forms. • Students with visual impairments may use the approved large key/large display calculators or approved talking calculators supplied by the FDOE. 48 Materials Needed for Testing Scientific Calculators • The computer-based TestNav Geometry EOC Assessment has a built-in scientific calculator. • Once a student has participated in a practice test, he or she may request to use an approved scientific calculator, if one is available. (See page 20 in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual for a list of approved scientific calculators.) • Students who will test using TestHear accommodated forms of the Geometry EOC Assessment will be provided with handheld scientific calculators by FDOE. 49 Materials Needed for Testing Computer-Based Testing Work Folders • The Florida Computer-Based Testing Work Folder is a blank piece of yellow 11x17 paper folded in half with grid paper on the back cover. Work folders arrived in your shipment of test administration manuals. • For the CBT Algebra 1, Biology 1, and Geometry EOC Assessments, students are provided with work folders to work the problems. One work folder should be sufficient for each student; however, students may request additional folders. • Work folders are to be distributed to students at the beginning of each test session. • School assessment coordinators and test administrators must ensure that students have enough desk space to use their folders. 50 Materials Needed for Testing Computer-Based Testing Work Folders (cont.) • Once students complete the test, the test administrator must collect all work folders. • The school assessment coordinator should package the used folders in the District Assessment Coordinator ONLY box. • Used work folders are secure materials. 51 Materials Needed for Testing Security Log A Security Log must be maintained for each testing room. Anyone who enters a room for the purpose of monitoring a test MUST sign the log for that testing room. www.PearsonAccess.com/fl 52 Materials Needed for Testing Seating Chart • An accurate seating chart must be maintained for each testing room for each test session. Seating charts must capture the following information: ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ the room name/number student names and their location in the room during testing date session starting time test administrator name names of proctors (if applicable) test group code • All seating charts must indicate the front and back of the room, as well as the direction students are facing. • If students move around or change seating during a test session, a new seating chart must be created. 53 Materials Needed for Testing Additional items • Pens and/or pencils • Clock or watch • Signs ̶ ̶ Do Not Disturb Sign Electronic Devices Sign 54 Test Administrator During Testing Maintain the seating chart, Security Log, and record of required administration information for your room. Ensure that each student has a pen or pencil and distribute testing materials as indicated in the scripts. Read the appropriate administration scripts VERBATIM to students. Please read the important information and adhere to the instructions between the SAY boxes. Keep accurate time for each test session and display times for students. Maintain test security at all times and report violations or concerns to your school assessment coordinator immediately. 55 Supervise Test Administration During testing, Test Administrators should ensure the following: • Students have cleared the area around their workstations of all materials except for Student Authorization Tickets, pens or pencils, and the following materials, as applicable: work folders, calculators, periodic tables, and reference sheets. • Students agree to the student pledge and enter the correct test group code. • Students do not talk or make any disturbance. • Students are working independently. • Students are working in the correct test. 56 Supervise Test Administration • It is not appropriate to use cell or classroom phones, grade papers, or work on the computer during testing. • While you may encourage students to continue working, you may not talk with them about test items or help them with their answers. • If students indicate they have finished the test before the allotted time for the session has elapsed and they have not yet submitted, you may encourage them to go back and check their work. 57 Test Administrator After Testing Verify that you have collected all required administration information, including accommodations actually used by each student. Verify that your seating chart and Security Log have been completed correctly. Make copies for your files. Report any missing materials to your school assessment coordinator. Organize materials and return them to your school assessment coordinator. Complete the Spring 2012 EOC Test Administrator Comment Form at www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC. 58 School Assessment Coordinator Before, During, and After Testing 59 School Coordinator Before Testing Read the test administration manual. Read the Test Administration Policies and Procedures and sign the Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreement. Train your test administrators and proctors, including non-school-based instructors (e.g., itinerant teachers). You must train several employees to act as possible alternates. Ensure that test administrators sign the Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreement and Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreement. Receive test materials from your district assessment coordinator. Inventory the materials within 24 hours of receipt and report missing materials or request additional materials immediately. Communicate testing policies with parents and students. 60 Receive Test Materials • You will be provided with the following materials, as appropriate for your school: ̶ Computer-Based ̶ ̶ Work folders Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC Reference Sheets Other materials, as indicated in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual (as applicable) ̶ ̶ Paper-Based ̶ ̶ PreID labels and rosters School Boxes (contents listed on pages 98-99 of the manual) Special Document Boxes, if applicable (Braille only) ̶ ̶ Calculators ̶ Contact TDC at 305-995-3743 if you do not have an adequate supply of approved handheld calculators. 61 Receive Materials/ Maintain Security • Keep materials secure at all times. • No more than three individuals may have access to the locked storage area. • Maintain the Test Materials Chain of Custody Form (Appendix E of the manual) to track test materials before and after testing. • Do not open shrink-wrapped packets or begin preparing (applying student labels) more than five (5) days prior to each test administration. • Save the original boxes for returning To Be Scored special document materials. • If you need additional materials, contact the Test Distribution Center at 305-995-3743. 62 Communicate Testing Policies Communicate Testing Policies to Parents and Students • Electronic Devices Policy—If students are found with ANY electronic devices during testing, their tests will be invalidated. The best practice would be for students to leave devices at home or in their lockers on the day of testing. • Leaving Campus—If students leave campus before completing the test (for lunch, an appointment, or illness, etc.), they WILL NOT be allowed to complete the test. • Student Pledge—Students will be asked to read and agree to a pledge prior to testing indicating that they will not give or receive unauthorized help during the test. If students are caught cheating or irregular answer patterns are detected during scoring, their tests will be invalidated. 63 School Coordinator Before Testing For the Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC Assessments, ensure an adequate supply of reference sheets is available for all students. Communicate the process for collecting required administration information to your test administrators. Distribute test group codes to test administrators. Assign proctors, as needed. Arrange practice test sessions. Ensure that appropriate test settings are available for all test sessions. Create CBT Test Administrator accounts in PearsonAccess for test administrators to monitor and resume students during testing (optional). Verify student information and create test sessions. Distribute Session Rosters and Student Authorization Tickets on the day of test administration. 64 Proctors • When testing a large group of students, proctors MUST be assigned to the room to assist the test administrator. • Refer to the table below for the required number of proctors. 1-25 students 26-50 students Test Administrator* Test Administrator and 1 Proctor 51-75 students Test Administrator and 2 Proctors * It is strongly encouraged that a proctor be assigned to rooms with 25 or fewer students whenever possible. 65 Arrange ePATs • Schools must administer an ePAT using the appropriate script provided in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual to all students to be tested to ensure that students have enough time to become familiar with the item types and features of the testing platform. • Schedule and arrange ePATs as described in the Spring 2012 EOC Manual. Complete prior to administration and record attendance. Read verbatim the appropriate ePat script in manual. Provide students with URL so they can practice on their own: www.FLAssessments.com/ePAT. 66 Arrange ePATs • Students who require accommodated CBT forms (e.g., large print, color contrast, zoom, screen reader, assistive devices) must complete a practice test for the specific accommodated form or form combination they will use during testing. • To access instructions for downloading and installing the ePAT Launcher and practice test content, go to www.FLAssessments.com/ePATs. The technology coordinator will need to download and install the software. 67 Managing PearsonAccess Student Information • The EOC PreID file submitted to the vendor was based on students enrolled at your school as of March 19, 2012. School may begin adding students using the Create New Student wizard on March 26, 2012. • Access Session Roster for verifying student information Students must be assigned to a test session BEFORE student data can be verified. • All students testing on the computer that were captured in the PreID file will be in a class called FL CLASS. • Verify the accuracy of Student Name and Student Florida ID number using the Session Roster prior to testing. • Note: Information on the submission of the PreID file for the summer administration will be provided as it becomes68 available. Create Test Sessions • Test Session is a required field for scheduling students to take a test. The three ways that you can set up sessions are: Test Group, Test Day, or Test Administration. • Test sessions were NOT created via the PreID file upload. • Schools must create test sessions before you can verify student information. These can be temporary sessions for the purpose of verifying student information, or they can be test sessions you plan to use for testing. • Detailed instructions on how to create a test session and verify student information are on pages 107-110 of the manual. 69 Organizing Test Sessions • Only two ways recommended for organizing test sessions 1. By Test Group – only includes students in a particular group (e.g., class, testing room) who will be testing together Advantage: PearsonAccess can be used to manage the testing groups and session rosters will include only one group of students testing together. Can also be used to distinguish between students taking regular computer-based form (Main) and the accommodated forms. Disadvantage: will require setup and management of more sessions 2. By Test Day – includes all students in a school to be tested in a subject on a particular day Advantage: greater security because a session can be started and stopped on the same day Disadvantage: requires coordination of testing groups at the school 70 School Coordinator Before Testing Make arrangements to test any special program students (Miami-Dade Online and virtual school programs, Home Education Program, etc.) who may be testing at your school. If any students who require accommodations are testing at your school, discuss with test administrators how accommodations will be provided (Appendix A). Complete Computer-Based Assessments Readiness Activities. Infrastructure Trial Certification Tool Maintain a list of test sessions to provide to the school technology coordinator to have the test content cached for all sessions. 71 School Coordinator During Testing Ensure that the Proctor Caching computer is on and the Proctor Caching software is running while students are testing. Ensure that test sessions have been started in PearsonAccess (page 128). Provide test administrators with additional materials, as necessary. Monitor each testing room to ensure that test administration and test security policies and procedures are followed, seating charts and Security Logs are properly completed, and required administration information is collected. Be available during testing to answer questions from test administrators. In PearsonAccess, monitor session status and resume students’ tests, if necessary (pages 129-131). 72 Arrange for and supervise make-up administrations. School Coordinator After Testing Verify that all distributed secure materials have been returned. Report any missing materials to your district assessment coordinator and conduct the necessary investigation. Make copies of all collected required administration information, seating charts, and Security Logs and file the copies. In PearsonAccess, stop test sessions and invalidate student tests, if necessary. o Invalidations should be recorded in PearsonAccess by 4:00 p.m. on the Friday of each week of testing. In PearsonAccess, record accommodations actually used by students. o Accommodations should be recorded by 4:00 P.M. on the Friday of the week the student tested. Organize materials and return them to your district assessment coordinator. Complete the Spring 2012 EOC School Assessment Coordinator Comment Form in PearsonAccess, and encourage test administrators to complete a form. 73 Test Invalidation • A test MUST be invalidated if either of the following circumstances occurs: ̶ ̶ A student has an electronic device during testing A student is cheating during testing • A test MAY be invalidated if one of the following circumstances occurs: ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ A student becomes ill and is unable to finish A student is not allowed the correct amount of time An error occurs in the administration of an accommodation An error occurs in test administration or procedures A student is disruptive during testing • More information about test invalidation and instructions 74 may be found on page 18 of the Spring 2012 EOC Manual. Organize and Return Materials • Inventory and store hand-held, approved four-function calculators. • File the Student Authorization Tickets, Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreements, and the Test Administrator Prohibited Activities Agreements for one calendar school year. • Copy the seating charts, required administration information, and Security Logs, file the copies, and return the originals in the District Assessment Coordinator ONLY box. • Return used and unused reference sheets and periodic tables, Session Rosters, and work folders in the District Assessment Coordinator ONLY box. • Return large key/large display and/or talking calculators and handheld scientific calculators in manila envelope, if applicable. 75 Paper-Based Tests (PBT) The following slides relate to the administration of paper-based tests (regular print or Braille), which are only offered as accommodations for the Algebra 1, Biology 1, and Geometry EOC Assessments. Note: There are no paper-based accommodations for the U.S. History EOC Field Test. Each slide contains an icon of a pencil and a test to indicate that the information pertains to paper-based tests only. Important: All paper-based administration should be completed at the beginning of each testing window. 76 PBT Chain of Custody Form • The Test Materials Chain of Custody form is available in Appendix E of the Spring 2012 EOC Manual and in PearsonAccess. • The form must be completed by every individual who handles test materials before and after testing. • A certified educator must be present at all times that test materials are handled 77 directly. Do not open shrink-wrapped materials (with security numbers) or begin preparing (applying student labels) more than 5 days prior to each EOC test administration. • Written documentation of the number ranges must be maintained at all times during distribution and return of books. • Pre-populated Administration Record/Security Checklists are provided in PearsonAccess. Go to Test Setup and click the Orders link. From the Reports drop-down, select “Security Checklist Detail.” • Test administrator should maintain a list of all secure materials assigned to him or her, including any additional materials assigned 79 throughout the administration.. www.FLAssessments.com/SpringEOC PBT Sample Student Grid Sheet •Student grid sheet captures student demographic information. A document is preidentified if it has a student label affixed. •Blank student grid sheets (non-preidentified) must be gridded using a No. 2 pencil. •For more information about specific demographic fields, see pages 120-122 of the manual. 80 PBT Sample Preidentified (PreID) Student Label • Four elements must be correct on PreID labels: student name, Florida ID number, district number, and school number. • If the student name, Florida ID number, district number, OR school number is INCORRECT on a label, a nonpreidentified test and answer book MUST be gridded. 81 PBT Student Enrollment Information/Testing History Blank student grid sheets non-preidentified only (without a PreID student label) • On the back of the paper-based test and answer book, complete the Student Enrollment Information box to indicate whether the student is taking the EOC Assessment for the first time (Algebra 1 only) and; • Whether the student is currently enrolled in, was previously enrolled in, or has never been enrolled in one of the courses in the Course List box (Algebra 1, Biology 1, and Geometry). • See page 123 of the Spring 2012 EOC Manual for samples 82 of the boxes for the different subjects. Invalidation: PBT DNS and UNDO Bubbles • Located in the SCHOOL USE ONLY box on the student grid sheet. • See page 19 of the manual for circumstances when the bubble should be gridded. • If a DNS bubble has been gridded by mistake, erase the DNS bubble and grid the UNDO bubble. Package the document with other TO BE SCORED materials. 83 PBT School Assessment Coordinator: After Testing Return Test Materials Mispackaged materials will delay reporting of student results. 1. Verify that all distributed secure materials have been returned. Notify your district assessment coordinator immediately if any secure materials are missing. 2. Check for and remove any stray reference sheets or periodic tables from the test and answer books. 3. Make copies of the records of required administration information. 4. Make copies of all Security Logs and seating charts and file the copies. 5. If a test has been invalidated, verify that the DNS bubble has been gridded and that the document is placed with TO BE SCORED materials. Verify that the DNS bubble has been gridded on a defective document and that the document is placed with NOT TO BE SCORED materials. Verify that no DNS bubble has been gridded by mistake. If it has, verify that the DNS bubble has been erased and the UNDO bubble has been gridded and place the document with TO BE SCORED materials. 84 PBT School Assessment Coordinator: After Testing Complete Document Count Forms 1. Verify that all documents from make-up sessions are included. 2. Do not copy blank count forms; however, once the count forms are completed, you may copy them for your records. 3.
