The NVRQT campaign, Jon Lester and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) have all
teamed up to raise awareness and funding for the research that is being conducted to find a cure for
children’s cancer. We are hoping that you will participate in supporting the NVRQT (“Never Quit”)
Angels Stadium Medical Research Update and PCRF Hosted Suite Event.
In 2006, NVRQT spokesperson and lead pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, Jon Lester, was diagnosed
with a rare form of blood cancer called non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Now five years cancer-free he is
stronger than ever due to the great progress being made in the field of cancer research. As a cancer
survivor and the father of a young son, Lester harbors a special concern for children suffering from
this disease and the painful treatments that accompany it. NVQRT, short for “never quit,” is a rally
cry to support children in their battle against pediatric cancer and researchers in their diligent search
for a cure. As a fundraising arm of PCRF, NVRQT proceeds go directly toward the treatment and
research of children’s cancer. In just 30 years the cure rate for children’s cancer has jumped from 40%
to 80%. NVRQT and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation are on a mission to raise that rate as
close to 100% as possible.
