Steps to conjugate in the Imp. Subjunctive
1. Start by using the box 5 preterite
conjugation.

2. Find the Imp. Subjunctive stem by
dropping the “RON” off of the
conjugation.
ie...hablaron

“s” form and an “r” form. The “s” form is more
literary and the “r” form is used more in speaking.
We will typically just use the “r” form.)
Irregulars and Stem Changes
The imperfect Subjunctive does
not have any stem changes or
irregulars to speak of. Only
what naturally occurs in the box
5 form of the preterite.
