Went to the University of
Missouri for Law
Subsequently, he joined
the national guard so that
he would then have some
masculine companionship
for the next six years.
Due to his family’s financial state, Truman had
to drop out of college and start working in the
mailroom of the Kansas City Star.
He then made a decision
in 1906 to leave those
careers and go back
home and work on the
family farm
Soon after, he left that job and went to work
at the bank and for a construction company.
Alben Barkley was Truman’s vice
president in his second and first
full presidential term.
Harry was elected in between the dates
of April 12, 1945 and January 20,1953
(he only served 8 years because in his
first term he was originally vice
president) and ran against Thomas E.
Accomplishments:
1. Issued the
Truman
doctrine to
contain
communism
2. Forced Japan to
surrender after
the atomic
bombing of
Hiroshima and
Nagasaki.
3. Started racial
integration in
the military after
the war
After his
presidency,
Truman and his
wife returned to
their home in
Independence,
Missouri.
Truman mainly just
guarding and
constructing his
legacy place in
history
Truman decided after awhile of
spending a lot of time back home
that it was the place he needed to
establish his presidential library!

I personally think that Harry S. Truman was a very effective and exceptional
president, for he had a tremendous impact on America. During his presidency, he
managed to always find multitudinous ways he could change America and even
though he always had obstacles, he overcame them. This particular president is my
favorite because he had true goals and visions for his country. If Truman saw
something in his head, it was a good chance it would happen. Not only was he
determined and persistent he had a good heart and saw everyone as human (I
would compare him to a bunny that looks fluffy but is shaper than a porcupine)
