FINAL PROJECT
 COMPONENTS:
o ONE: Research Paper (minimum 5 pages to maximum 10 pages, 12 point font
Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1.0-inch margins all around)
 Formal introduction and conclusion required
 Inclusion of at least 3 secondary sources
 At least 2 from print sources OR academic journals/articles found
on JSTOR and other similar databases




N.B. Wikipedia may NOT serve as a source of your paper though you can use it
to locate other sources and familiarize yourself with the plots of the works
initially
 Works Cited and in-text citations in MLA format
o TWO: Presentation (5-7 minutes)

GRADE: The project counts as an exam = 20% of the semester grade.

o After the War: Euripides’ Trojan Women and Andromache
o Heroes on the Margin: Sophocles’ Ajax and Philoctetes
o From Vengeance to Justice: Aeschylus’ Oresteia Trilogy (Agamemnon, Libation
Bearers, Eumenides)
o High Concept Laughter: The Fantastical Athens of Aristophanes (analysis of two
of Aristophanes’ plays, one of which should include Lysistrata)
o Conflict Between Human and Divine Laws: Aeschylus’ Eumenides, Sophocles’
Antigone, and Euripides’ Bacchae
o Topic of your own choice utilizing 2-3 classical works – your topic must be
APPROVED before you can begin working in earnest on it
