ELAR Homework Bingo 2nd Six Weeks-2 squares due by each Friday Read for 20 minutes and identify the author’s purpose of your book. Read for 20 minutes and make a list of 5 adjectives you found in your book. Read for 20 minutes and choose 5 words from your book and write a synonym for each word. Read for 20 minutes and write a few sentences about what you think would happen if the story were to continue. Read for 20 minutes and choose 5 words from your book and write an antonym for each word. Read a poem for 20 minutes and describe what it is about. Read for 20 minutes and choose a word that you didn’t know the meaning of and use your context clues to write the meaning for it. Read for 20 minutes and describe the relationship between two of the characters in your story. Read for 20 minutes and list 5 questions that you asked yourself as you read. Read for 20 minutes and describe the setting of your story. Read for 20 minutes and describe the problem and the solution of your story. Read for 20 minutes and summarize your story. Read for 20 minutes and describe the climax of your story. Read for 20 minutes and list at least 6 rhyming words. (All 6 do not have to rhyme together.) Read for 20 minutes and put 5 words in your book in ABC order. Read for 20 minutes and identify the point of view that your story is written in. Read for 20 minutes and find a prepositional phrase in your book. Read for 20 minutes and find a word in your story that has a prefix and write down the meaning. Read for 20 minutes and find a word in your story that has a suffix and write down the meaning. Read for 20 minutes and write a sentence that appeals to your senses. Read for 20 minutes and identify the theme of your story. Read for 20 minutes and draw a picture of something you visualized as you read. Read for 20 minutes and find a word with multiple meanings. Write down each meaning of the word. Read for 20 minutes and write a poem about your book. Read for 20 minutes and write about a connection (text to self, text to text, text to world) that you made. Homework Directions 1. For every BINGO square students must read for at least 20 minutes. 2. Activities will be done in their homework folder on the lined paper located in the brads. It should start off with listing the title and author of the book read. For example: I read ___________ by __________. 3. A student must complete 10 squares in any column or row in order to satisfy the homework requirement for the six weeks. Please identify completed squares by circling or starring them. 4. Homework will be checked every Wednesday and Friday. However, if a student has homework completed earlier, it is their responsibility to have the teacher check it; the teacher will then initial the square that has been done successfully. 5. 2 BINGO squares must be completed each week by the end of the week. Students can choose any square they would like to complete. 6. If homework is not completed by the due date, students will be required to have a working lunch and recess to complete homework. 7. Students can choose to do extra BINGO squares and will be rewarded with prizes and/or extra credit depending upon the amount done. 8.
