 After completion students will be able to:
 Obtain information of different regions
 Define climates
 Compare climates
 Give similarities and differences of climates

 Read Flat Stanley
 Before the lesson on climate, during read aloud we will read
Flat Stanley. While reading the teacher will point out hints to weather
And climate.

 Students will obtain information and research through books and websites on a “Research Quest”
○ Books and websites provided by teacher
 Students will show what they learned through a worksheet http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/education/pd/oceans_weather_climate/media/clim ate_zones.swf

 Students will pick a climate that is written on a slip of paper
 They will then dress Flat Stanley in appropriate clothes to match their climate

Students will place their Flat Stanley in
APPROPRIATE clothes in the climate they chose and place him in the correct spot on the map


They will explain…
 why and where they put Stanley on the map in a writing prompt
 why they dressed him the way they did

 Students will create a pamphlet and write about…
 The climate zone where they put their Flat
Stanley
 The name of their location
 What there is to do in that area of the world
 How you would dress in this climate
 The animals that live there
 If this area gets a lot of precipitation
 If this area is usually warm or cold
