On Friday, February 26th, 2016, Broward County non-profit organizations will be recognized by the community they serve for their tireless efforts and impact. At the 6th Annual South Florida Community Care Network Non-Profit Academy Awards hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and presented by 2-1-1 Broward, the efforts of Broward County non-profits and the accomplishments of non-profit leaders will be collectively recognized at the Awards ceremony and luncheon. 2-1-1 Broward is now accepting nominations for outstanding individual and organizational efforts in nine categories: Arts, Board Leader, Collaboration, Collective Impact for Youth, Innovation, Lifetime Achievement, Non-Profit Leader, Organization of the Year, and Rising Star. All 501(c)(3) organizations are encouraged to submit an application. Up to three finalists will be selected in each category by a panel of impartial judges. Finalists will be revealed at the Broward Health VIP Announcement Party on January 14, 2016. Winners of the awards will be revealed at the Awards ceremony and luncheon. Winning individuals/organizations will receive a $1,000 grant to their organization. Up to two finalists per category will each receive a $500 grant to their organization. Finalists will receive publicity and awareness for the mission of their organization through event press, media materials, newsletters and social media coverage. Qualified applicants not named as finalists will be entered for a chance to receive the Publix Community Choice Award. The community will select the winner of the Publix Community Choice Award by voting online for their favorite organization. (Please note that grants awarded for the collaboration category will be divided equally among the collaborating organizations by the submitting agency.) 2-1-1 is the first call for help for Broward County residents and the gateway to health and human services in our community. Last year, 2-1-1 Broward connected nearly 101,000 Broward County callers with over 4,000 different programs that were available to help them. Nominations must be received by 5:00 pm on December 14, 2015 – Email completed package to nominations@211-broward.org. Finalists will be announced at the Broward Health VIP Announcement Party to be held on January 14, 2016. Each nominee will receive at least one ticket for the organization to attend the invite only Broward Health VIP Announcement Party. Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony and luncheon on February 26th, 2016 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (visit www.211-broward for non-profit ticket pricing). The submitting organization is responsible for the distribution of grant funding if named as a winner or finalist. All nominees must meet the following criteria: Individuals/organizations must have a physical presence in Broward County and regularly deliver services to residents of Broward County. Individuals/organizations may self-nominate or be nominated by others. Organizations may be nominated in only one category. Past winners cannot be nominated again in their winning category but may be nominated in a different category. Past winners of the Publix Community Choice Award will not be eligible for this award. Please answer the questions fully but succinctly. Each question is awarded 1-5 points. The application may not exceed 2 pages (not including the information form). Convey your passion as you explain why your nominee/organization is deserving of this honor. Our panel of esteemed judges will score nominations based solely on information provided in the nomination application package. This award celebrates two or more organizations that have together demonstrated the true spirit of collaboration by partnering to address and improve the community at large.
