Short Essay – 1 paragraph. Based usually on documents.
This unit we will begin to practice Short Essays and begin to look at
documents.
A document can be a short paragraph from a speech, letter, conversation,
book etc. It can also be visual, like a painting.

in class, use important and key examples. However, a key piece of
learning and doing AP Euro is your work at home. There will be things
in the textbook that we will not discuss in depth in class. It is
important to be specific, use your HW questions and key terms.

PAINTING
Overview – what is this a picture of?
Parts – What things do you see in the painting (this is a list)
Title: What is the title? Who painted it? When? (If you know)
Interrelationships: What is going on? How do the things in the painting
interact?
Conclusion: What are some general things we learn from this painting?
How do you connect it with the artistic trends of the time period? How do
you connect it with the social and intellectual trends?
