Applied and Experiential Learning Within SUNY OpInform 2015 Applied and Experiential Learning What is Applied Learning? A Applied Learning refers to a hands-on, “real world” approach where students learn by doing. It is SUNY’s goal to give every student the opportunity to partake in at least one Applied Learning experience before they graduate. Includes internships and cooperative educational placements (co-ops), clinical placements, service and civic engagements, study abroad, student research, living-learning communities, and more. Many SUNYs have organized these opportunities under one “umbrella” on campus, such as Potsdam’s new Center for Applied Learning. Applied and Experiential Learning Each Year...
