Helpful Hints:

This list contains a range of suggestions to make your camping experience enjoyable.

Select items from this list according to the requirements of the camp.

Consider the weight and value of each item before including it. Remember, you have to carry it.

If the camp has some designated dirty / wet activities, take spare clothing and plastic bags to keep wet clothes separate.

Pack their own pack (perhaps under supervision) so that they know what you have brought and where it is

Pack carefully and neatly so as to save space. Distribute the weight.

Think about what you may need first and make it easy to get to eg Raincoat and Torch.

If you need to strap things to the outside of your pack, make sure they are well secured.

You will only need ONE of some items the whole patrol eg Aerogard. Talk to your patrol members and decide who should bring
what.


Scouts are requested not to bring any form of electronic games, CD/MP3 players, radio’s etc.
