Student Learning Outcomes
• The STARS program covers in detail the university policies and
available resources to enable the student’s academic
progression toward successful completion of his/her degree.
• STARS is divided into modules, and an assessment is required
at the end of each module with a completion rate of 100%.
• To measure the program and learning outcomes, students must
take a survey upon completion of STARS and at the end of the
following semester.
• Mandatory advising holds, placed by advisors, ensures that
students meet with advisors at least once in the following
semester.

Sample Email Communication #1: Academic Probation
Hello
You are receiving this email as an alert to your academic standing at UCF. A hold has been
place on your student account because your GPA has shown a slide. Your UCF cumulative GPA is
under a 2.0, so you have been placed on academic probation. Probation is a serious matter that
should not be taken lightly and there are several steps that you will need to take in order to be
taken off probation and be able to enroll in next semester classes.
1. Completion of the Student Tracking Alert Retention Systems, STARS presentation is

presentation
Click on the link provided and it will take you to the UCF Federated Identity log in
page

Choose the STARS course
Begin the STARS presentation
2. Print out the Academic Plan at the end of the STARS presentation and bring it with you
to a mandatory appointment with a Regional Campuses academic advisor. You will
complete the plan with the advisor.
3. Print out and bring your degree audit to the advising session
It is the responsibility of the student to complete all these requirements in order to have the
academic hold removed.

cumulative GPA dropped and is close to a 2.0. This matter should not be taken lightly, and there
