Conjunctiva (n) means the delicate mucous membrane that covers the front of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids. The combining form is conjunctiv/o. Conjunctival – adj. 2. Pupil (n) means central opening in the iris of the eye through which light enters the eye. Papillary – adj. 3. Iris (n) means the colored muscular layer that surrounds the pupil.
