How can we, as both researchers and human travellers, navigate the ethical, emotional, and epistemological complexities of doing research with and about people? This course will provide students with a theoretical and practical toolbox for designing, conducting, and writing ethnographic research projects. Students will explore the concepts and skills in class and then apply and develop them in the field. Students will have the opportunity to design a research project in consultation with the instructor, and to conduct their own ethnographic fieldwork during an intensive four-week research trip to Athens, Greece.
