Science Homework Assignment Due April 23, 2015 “Earth Science Rocks!” Directions: This is an opportunity to show your creativity! You will be given great leeway as to how this assignment looks. The subject is “EARTH SCIENCE ROCKS!” You must include academic appropriate information and not just “I like science!” You may use information about any earth science topic covered in our text book. Let’s stay away from boring power points and posters. Teach us something in a unique way. You may work with another student or group of students or do this project on your own. The project is due April 23rd . Please remember that you are to be working on the assignment diligently and not waiting until April 22nd to create something! This project takes the place of nightly science homework. You do not have to use one of the following suggestions. If you have a great idea, let me know! Project suggestions: (performed live or recorded) Write an original song or rap Take us on a “field trip” using technology (green screen, movie maker, etc) Write and perform a Reader’s Theater script Make a puppet show Have someone make a video of you being an “expert” (like Bill Nye!) Visit an actual geologic site and make a video with you commenting on the details and importance of what you see (canyons, rivers, caves, rock formations) Wear a costume and dress up like an early geologist and share with us what you have discovered Conduct an experiment about an earth science topic for the class using the scientific method. If you are recording your presentation, please bring in your recording device BEFORE the due date to make sure we can play it in class. We might not have compatible technology.
