Feeding Zathuras

The City of Zathuras
Zathuras will be like a little version of Las Vegas because of the attraction sites. For example
there will be casinos in Zathuras; this is a great
tourist attraction for people, a good source of
entertainment, and a way to get a financial bonus
for Zathuras. The total population in Zathuras is
about 100,000-500,000 citizens. The reason why
the population is so large is because the city is
populated with people of different races and
ethnicities. People can experience different cultures, languages and much more… Zathuras is
located in Southern Australia near the Murray Darling Basin. The people that created Zathuras
had to think about the citizens of Zathuras and the crops. As the government of South Australia
states “Most of the fresh water we use in South Australia comes from the Murray
Darling Basin, Australia's largest water catchment area” (1968). The principle reason
Zathuras is located near Murray Darling Basin is so that if we are ever in need of fresh water,
we’d have another source to get water.
Agriculture and Urban Agriculture:
Zathuras has a lot of land and we use a majority of it to farm. It has a very
diverse amount of plants, fruits, vegetables and animals. Fruits, vegetables and plants
are a great food source. In agriculture it is very important to zone the space that you
have and decide what to do with it.
Zoning is, as Dictionary.com states “the division of an area into zones,
as to restrict the number and types of buildings and their uses” (2014). This relates to
urban agriculture in so many ways because you have to zone the area you are going to
use and see if it is actually usable. As stated by Greens Grow Philadelphia Project,
“Zoning plays a big role in urban agriculture. It can dictate what kind of growing may
be allowed, whether animals, retail sales, and even education can be part of the
operation” (ND). Also as stated by Greens Grow Philadelphia Project “Simply put
urban agriculture is growing or producing food in a city or heavily populated town or
municipality” (ND). Urban agriculture is important for city growth because it will be
able to feed everyone more easily than if they did not use urban farming.
Risks:
Some risks that Zathuras farmers might come across would be:
Pollution and diseases from nearby industries
Solutions and Effectiveness of it:
To solve the problem of pollution from close by industries is by making the section for
the plants far away from lso because this is the farthest place from the industries located all
around, which would make the plants have little to no chance of getting polluted on and then
changing to something different then what it is supposed to be and dangerous that it spreads all
around Zathuras.
This solution is very effective to the city of Zathuras and its people because of
the conclusion they came up with there hasn’t being any problems that relate to plants.
Innovative and Futuristic:
The solution that the people of Zathuras came up with is both innovative and
futuristic because of how they put their plants
and where. This is because where the plants will
be planted will be a whole new world with plants
growing everywhere and every which way.
There will big buildings that allow the plants to
inside, outside, above, below and through the building. As you can see in the picture
that is located beside these words this is how the place look like but it will be bigger
and better, but they have one thing in common which is their uniqueness.
Benefits:
The benefits of having carrots as
the main vegetable in Zathuras are not
just its nutrition facts which are a lot but its popularity around the world. As stated by
Eric Woolson I always wanted to do onions but there was so much movement and
excitement in the cut and peel of carrots (2014). Also as stated by C. CLAIBORNE RAY
“Carrots also have sugars, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and a little sodium and
potassium, too” (2003). There are also a lot of benefits of having fish as your protein
one example is how fish are good or your health. As stated by The President and Fellows
of Harvard College (2014) “There is strong evidence that eating fish or taking fish oil is good
for the heart and blood vessels” (2014). These are some of the reason why the people of
Zathuras picked fish and carrots for their vegetable and protein.
Technology:
Some part of whole new plant world there will be some farmers on tractors for the field
work and other tools to help organize the work load.
Tradeoffs:
Something’s that the people of Zathuras can tradeoff are their plants.
Key Elements:
Some of the key elements of Zathuras are sun, water and air.
Energy Efficient:
Solar panels are a great way for the people of Zathuras to efficiently get energy,
especially since Zathuras
Engineering:
Farmers are practically engineers because they both deal with zoning and placing
whatever they want to build create and etc… and right know for the farmers it is their plants.
Engineer and Innovation Connection:
Engineering and innovation connect to
each other and Zathuras. You would have to be
an innovative; you would have to think outside
the box to find an efficient way to not only
zone the animals and plants but make it safe
and not just for the farmers but for the things
around them and the plants and animals, but first they had to build a building that solved all
these constraints and instead of making them weaknesses it would make them strengths.
Engineering and innovation they both play a major part in not only for the city Zathuras but the
people around it and even the animals, plants too.
