University College Roosevelt (UCR) is an International Honours College of Utrecht
University in the tradition of the Liberal Arts and Sciences in the historic city of
Middelburg, embracing an international faculty and student body. Its Liberal Arts
program is fashioned based in the models of the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of
Science programs offered at American and British universities and colleges. The
official language used at UCR is English. Students follow a broad and intense study
program. Classes are small (no larger than 25 students). Interaction with instructors
and tutors is intense.

Salary
Salary will be in the range between € 2,403 (min. scale 10) and € 4,418 (max. scale
11) gross per month based on a fulltime appointment.
Job description
The instructor is expected to teach one third-year level course “SSC322” and one
first-year level course “SSC121”. The general program of the courses can be found
at http://www.ucr.nl/ The teaching load will be 8 hours per week in class plus
preparation time.
The teaching period starts on August 26, 2013 and lasts until December 20, 2013.
There is a possibility to renew the contract based on good performance and demand.
Qualifications
The candidate should have:
 a completed doctoral (PhD) certificate
 lecturing experience in (Developmental) Psychology at the relevant university
level
 evidence of teaching excellence (evaluations)
 excellent English language skills (written & spoken)
 course development experience is desirable
Terms of
Employment
UCR initially offers a semester contract running from July 1 to December 31, 2013
on the level of Lecturer. The salary will be based on the VSNU salary scales. Travel
costs within the Netherlands will be partly reimbursed.
