Letter 1：Request for expediting shipment
Dear Sirs,
Re: Zinc Sheets
Referring to our previous letters in respect of our Order
No.1165 of January 22nd for 1 000 metric tons of zinc sheets,
we have to call your attention to the fact that so far we have
not had any definite information from you as to when we may
expect delivery, although these goods are contracted for
shipment before the end of last month, and our relative L/C
was opened with the Bank of China as early as in February
2004.
Needless to say, we have been put to no little
inconvenience by the delay in delivery. It is therefore
imperative that you notify us by fax immediately of the
earliest possible date of shipment for our consideration
without prejudice to our right of cancellation of the order
and/or lodging claims for losses thus sustained.
Please look into the matter at once and let us have your
definite reply by fax without any further delay.

Letter 2：A reply to the above

Letter 3：Insisting on shipments by designated
steamers
Dear Sirs,
With reference to our Order No.56 and 74 for a total of
400 metric tons of peanut oil, we have today received a
fax from our buyers, M/S Black & White Corporation Ltd.,
regarding delivery of these orders.
We wish to draw your attention once again to our letter
of 8th, in which we have given you our instructions as to
how Order No.56 and 74 should be shipped. To meet their
requirements, it is of great importance to our buyers that
the arrival dates of these orders should be confirmed as
early as possible. The main reason for our insisting on
shipments being carried by steamers of K-Lines is that
their steamers offer the shortest time for the journey
between Hongkong and Hamburg. We shall appreciate it if
you will endeavor to ship the consignments as follows:
Order No.56: by s.s. Montreal due to sail from
Hongkong on September 18 or at latest by s/s Victorial
due to sail from Hongkong on September 28 arriving in
Hamburg on October 8 and October 18 respectively8.
Order No.74: either by the above steamers or the latest
by s.s. Mondeal due to sail from Hongkong on October
arriving in Hamburg on October 29.

Letter 4：A reply to the above
Dear Mr. Yang,
Re: Your Orders No.56 and 74
We have received your faxes of 8th and 12th of August,
requesting us to ship the goods under the captioned orders
by either s.s. Victorial, Mondeal or Montreal.
In this regard, we wish to point out that it is not our
practice to effect shipment by vessels designated by our
clients, but incidentally as the steamer you have named is
the very one on which we intend to ship your order, we
have no objection to complying with your wishes.
For your information, we have got in touch with the KLines and have now succeeded in booking the required
shipping spaces on s/s Montreal scheduled to sail from
Hongkong to Hamburg around the middle of next month.
The goods will go forward on s.s Dong Feng leaving
Guangzhou for Hongkong on September 5, where they
will be transshipped by s.s. Montreal for onward freight to
Hamburg.

Letter 6：Explaining the reason for late delivery
Dear Sirs,
Re: Your Order No.918 for 200 bicycles
We have for acknowledgment your letter of November
20, asking for definite news of shipment of the subject
goods.
Inasmuch as we ourselves are still waiting for a reply
from the local shipping agents concerning the matter of
space, we regret being unable to give you any good
news at the moment. You may, however, have the
satisfaction of knowing that although we are not the only
exports here that are having great difficulties in obtaining
ocean freight space, we are doing our utmost to get the
goods off before the relative credit expires. In the next
few days, we expect to let you know by fax the result of
our efforts.
We realize that you have been inconvenienced to a
certain extent by the delay occasioned by the shortage
of shipping space, but we trust nevertheless you will
appreciate that not only is this a rare case of its kind
between us so far, but also it is entirely beyond our help.

Letter 7：Sending shipping instructions
Dear Sirs,
We are in receipt of your letter of 15th May, from
which we understand that you have booked our order for
two Model 790 Machines.
Our confirmation of order will be forwarded to you in
a few days.
Since the purchase is made on FOB basis, you are
to ship the goods from Liverpool on a steamer to be
designated by us. As soon as the shipping space is
booked, we shall advise you of the name of the steamer,
on which the goods are to go forward. For further
instructions, please contact our forwarding agent, ABC
company, Liverpool, who has hitherto taken care of
shipments from you.
As some parts of the machines are susceptible to
shock, the machines must be packed in seaworthy cases
capable of withstanding rough handling. The bright metal
parts should be protected from water and dampness in
transit by a coating of slushing compound that will keep
out dampness, but will not liquefy and run off under
changing weather conditions.

and that the shipment will give the users entire
satisfaction.
