Weekly Schedule
Week 1, Lesson 1: Wednesday, Jan. 14th – TBD
Successful Entrepreneurship: Otherwise Known as
What is an Entrepreneur? This Session will open the
program with introductions, expectations of the classes,
team building, and begin to define “entrepreneurs” and
their various roles. Elements will include characteristics of
entrepreneurs, the ten “D’s” that define a successful
entrepreneur and an introduction of success stories.

Week 2, Lesson 2: Wednesday, Jan. 21st- TBD
Creating Business Opportunities
This session focuses on generating ideas for a successful
business. Students will learn about various young
successful entrepreneurs who started businesses with
innovative ideas and develop idea. What is your idea?
Week 3, Lesson 3: Wednesday, Jan. 28th - TBD
Plan Your Work; Work Your Plan
This session is designed to give the students an overview of
what a good business entails and the important parts that
need to be incorporated, who will review or will want to
see it and explain the various parts of a good business plan.
Look at a SWOT analysis and how it will help in planning
your business.
Week 4, Lesson 4: Wednesday, Feb. 4th - TBD
Marketing: Product, Price, Place
This session will focus on defining the business product,
the audience/purchasers, location and how to Market the
product. Students learn the essentials of what it takes
develop a product (or service), set a competitive price and
where to market the products.
Week 5, Lesson 5: Wednesday, Feb. 11th – TBD
Marketing: Know Your Competition
Expanding on the previous session, the focus here is to give
the students what competition is, how it relates to their
offerings and why it is important to continue to evaluate
what their competition is doing.
Week 6, Lesson 6: Wednesday, Feb. 18th– TBD
Marketing: Promotion and Advertising
This section teaches the latest techniques for designing a
slogan, print materials, website design, and online
marketing. A Key component is learning how to design
and advertise within a budget and analyze its effectiveness.
Week 7, Lesson 7: Wednesday, Feb. 25th - TBD
Finances: Starting With Your Personal Finances
This session will teach personal finances especially as it
relates to real life budgeting, saving, investing, insurance,
credit, etc. Sponsored by TBD

Week 8, Lesson 8: Wednesday, Mar. 4th - TBD
Finances: Starting Your Business Finances
Exploring the different kinds of ways to fund a business,
identifying the financial opportunities, what kind of start-up
funding is available, understanding loans/grants available
the development of budgets and what to think about and
how to sustain long term business opportunities.

Week 9, Lesson 9: Wednesday, Mar. 11th - TBD
Networking
This session is the summation of the previous modules.
Participants now have the tools to start their business and
will learn how to effectively network in the community.
This lesson teaches strategies for business cards,
community meeting, memberships, cold calling, etc.
Week 10: Wednesday: Mar. 18th - TBD
Student Presentations/Graduation
Students will present their Business Plans that they have
worked on using the tools they learned throughout the class
sessions. A short graduation celebration will follow.

Hands on Job Shadow and Graduation
Over the 10 weeks, especially students who want to qualify
PPS school credit toward graduation; will be provided
opportunity to job shadow with an OAME business
partner/member. If interested please request during Week 6
of program.
